Does anyone have this? I've been searching for the soundtrack CD for what seems like years....cannot find a copy anywhere. I'd like to get a copy of the version of Violet & Blue that was featured on the soundtrack, since it's different than what was on Enchanted.
I used to have this on cassette, but, alas, I cannot find it either. It's probably somewhere in the basement....in a box, with spiders and such, and I CANNOT go in the basement with the spiders.
There is a download on SLN.info right now that is the unreleased version played in the movie....the sound is okay, better than what was on Uncirculated Rumours.
Anyhow, if anyone can e-mail the soundtrack version sourced from CD, or wants to post it with You Send It, please do!

It's been so long since I've heard it. I recall some extra piano at the end, and if I remember correctly, the mixing of the vocal is different.
Both SaraRhiannon (of the Stevie Nicks Underground) and Jennifer (of Three Birds Of Rhiannon) also list the soundtrack version as being different from what is on Enchanted - and 20 seconds shorter as well.

Hmm... I don't recall ever noticing a difference. But when I get a chance, I'll pull out those two versions and compare them.
I'm on dial-up, but if they are definitely different, I can probably do one of those "YouSendIt" dealies so that you and anyone else who wants it, can download it.

I never considered this before, but it may be possible that the LP and cassette copies of the soundtrack have a different version than the CD. Perhaps what is on the CD is the same as Enchanted....with the 'alternate version' being on the other two formats?

That would be great if possible, thank you for checking into it. :xoxo:

There are few different mixes, though I believe only one is commercially available. I'm pretty sure the version found on the Against All Odds soundtrack vinyl/tape/CD is the same mix found on Enchanted, except for the remastering done on the latter. Maybe that's why they sound different  The vocal and instrumentation are the same on both versions.
A remix of Violet and Blue done by Chris Lord-Alge, who reconstructed most of the original mixes for TimeSpace, was serviced for that collection, but it was not used. A decent copy of the remix surfaced later on the notorious master reels. The main differences can be heard in the drums and piano, which are brought forth in the mix.
A third mix of the song with an entirely different, less-polished vocal began circulating years ago, after the Against All Odds soundtrack was released. This version was rumored to have been used for the actual film (during the nightclub scene).

Yeah, I've got the master remix, but I also have one that runs 4:43...different from both Enchanted, the master reels, and the alternate from Uncirculated Rumours. It came off of a CD called 'Wild Heart Dmeos #2', and Three Birds of Rhiannon lists it as the version from the soundtrack....quality is pretty bad.....upon closer listen it is merely an edit with a fade of the version you posted the link to. I guess I'll have to dig out that cassette copy of the soundtrack and find out once and for all.
Anyhow, maybe I'm on a wild goose chase here.

Alright, I gave in and just bought one off of ebay. I buy far too much off of ebay already, but one more item won't hurt, I guess.
When this comes in the mail, I'll post the song if it indeed proves to be any different.

Where's that eyelash-batting emoticon when I need it? ;)

I have the soundtrack. I'll compare it to Enchanted right now. :)

I'll send it, if you'd like. It's not too different, really, just a bit more going on musically.

I have the Again All Odds Cd and album, and just listened and I really did not ANY difference between the AAO version and the Enchanted version -- OTHER than the fact that the Enchanted version had been remastered (not remixed) and sounded much cleaner and crisper than the AAO Cd version. Otherwise, to my ears, it's the same song, mix and version.

After I put my teeth back in.

Sounds like this could have come from Maureen's batch, or some variation of it. I stop collecting her stuff after hearing how hacked up everything got. The live shows were the worst... These brilliant soundboard recordings would all be cut off at the very end, which was so incredibly frustrating! What would possess someone to do this? So I wouldn't be surprised if that fade/edit was manufactured by a fan.

I pulled out my 'Against All Odds' CD, too, and it's definitely the same version on both releases.
I didn't compare it with my 'Against All Odds' cassette though, but I don't recall hearing any differences when I originally upgraded to CD.

Thanks so much everyone for your help in clarifying this for me. As it turns out, I bought the soundtrack on ebay yesterday, and it's on it's way. Since I only paid 99 cents for it, it's no big deal. I'll add it to the stack of CDs I never listen to, but don't want to get rid of.
Now I'm wondering why the two Stevie websites I mentioned earlier are listing the soundtrack as having a different version. They must be referring to what was actually played in the movie - and not what is on the official motion picture soundtrack.
I wonder if Stevie just didn't have the song finished when that nightclub scene in the movie was done, and thus the alternate version?
