Alright, none of you will probably care about this *LOL*, but I am having the best night of my life...period. *And yes, this is very Stevie related * I'll start at the beginning: At around 12:30 am, when most normal people were sleeping, I, being the slight insomniac that I am, decided to go downstairs and watch Stevie Nicks Behind the Music. Well a half hour into the dvd, we are at 1:00 now, my dad came home. He sat down on the couch with me, looked at the screen and looked at me for awhile. I guess he was thinking that this was the second night in a row that he had come home to me sitting there staring off into my little Stevie Nicks world *LOL*. So he turned to me and asked me where Stevie was right now *like on her tour*, so I said that I had no idea, all I knew was that she had recently been in Coloroda. Then he told me to go upstairs on the computer and find out where she was going to be next week. Now, I'm leaving out parts of the conversation, but it was basically just him saying that Stevie looks nothing like she used to, and me going my usual over-defensive ways and saying that she is the most gorgeous woman alive :xoxo: . So after looking up the tour dates, I come back down stairs, and tell my dad that Stevie is going to be in L.A. on Tuesday. He just kinda stared off into space and was like "L.A....wow..." So I just kinda stood there on the stairs waiting to see where this was all leading, and then he said to me, "Marissa, go back online and book us a trip to California, I know that you want to see her more than anything" By this time, it was 2 in the morning *LOL*, and I was, and still am, in complete shock. My dad is not rich, far from it, but he is paying an insane amount of money *and trust me, I know, I booked the trip* to take me from Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania to Los Angeles, California, just so I can see Stevie one more time. I also should make it clear that my dad is not some saint, far from it, but for some reason, he actually understands how much Stevie means to me. So my friends, come Monday afternoon, my father and I will be boarding a plane for the first time in our lives *that's right, we've never flown*, and going 3,000 miles so I can see my hero one last time. Oh and just to keep up with the times *LOL*, it's 5:11 am here and I'm too excited to sleep, I do feel a little bad about calling my friend at 4:00 and gabbing about it for an hour though *L*

I don't blame you, I would be reacting the same exact way... can't sleep and gab with some for LONGER than an hour!!! Your dad obviously sees how much you love Stevie AND he approves! He probably remembers something about her from years ago and maybe knows that she's become quite the positive role model. Good role models are important for young people to have. YAY DAD!! Anyway, have a great time in LA. Stevie Loves LA... so it should be a fabulous performance. Looking forward to hearing all about it when you get back.
Laura
PS: LAX is one of the busier airports, it's big but well laid out. You might want to get online and print out a map of the airport, mapquest, etc. to help you get around. But you've already done that, right? I'm really excited for you!

that is so awesome for you!
my dad mentioned that he would go to the tampa show, but since there were no decently priced seats left he opted out. dads are so cool sometimes. last week he was over for dinner and i had TimeSpace on. when Stand Back came on, he sang a few LALAs and twirled. i was stunned. then he shreiked the IAF "shad-dow against shad-dow against" with me. ahh, stevie bringing families together ;)

Your dad is great for doing that for ya! Congrats! I've only been to one concert with my dad (it was for a radio station OldiesFest...we saw Mary Wilson, BJ Thomas and The Monkees, who I was REALLY there to see) and we had a good time. Now, my mom is another story, she's been to almost every concert I've ever gone to (sans the England shows and last year's Woodlands show).
First time on a plane! I know the feeling. I had never been on a plane until I went to England in 2003. It's interesting. I can't say it was super fun for me, since I get motion sickness, but I made it through with lots of prayer. LOL Have fun!!!!

They're not much-more-fabulous, ORCH 9 row DD, but the other two shows I went to, I was absolutely as far away from the stage as humanly possible  If I find better tickets later, do you think Ticketmaster will let me upgrade?

Marissa that is so cool! Your dad sounds like a great guy and it will be quite an experience for you to see Stevie in Los Angeles. She tends to be more nervous at LA shows since there are usually a lot of industry people there but it's very cute :). Tiffany and I will be there so you'll definitely have to meet up with us!

You are very lucky. My parents usually don't like hearing about Stevie because often times it means I just spent a sh*tload of money on something Stevie related and they get pissed. My dad won't go to any Stevie concerts with me because he went to see her 1991 and had to leave the place because there was so much pot around lol. I have spent so much money on this woman in the last 3 years! I wonder if Stevie will come visit me in the halfway house I'll be moving into since I've spent all my funds on her. :distress:
