Does anyone know anything about Stevie's kitchen?
I'm a chef, and am so interested in what her kitchen looks like...I wonder if she just has a chef in house, or she cooks...
I don't rememer ever hearing anything about it.
Thanks

I don't know about her kitchen, but I know what she likes to cook in it. :D
From the book "Rock 'N' Roll Cuisine":
Fleetwood Mac Fiesta Dip
Ingredients
2 large cans Rosarita spicy refried beans
2 packages taco seasoning
1 cup mayonnaise
2 cups sour cream
6 medium tomatoes, chopped
Iceberg lettuce, shredded
3 cups grated cheddar cheese
2 small cans sliced black olives
Glass baking pan 9" x 13" x 2"
Bottom layer in pan: refried beans
Next layer: mix taco seasoning, mayonnaise + sour cream together and spread half of it on top of beans
Then: layer of shredded lettuce
Next: layer of grated cheese
Then: layer of chopped tomatoes
Next: another layer of taco seasoning, mayonnaise, sour cream mixture
Last: layer of sliced olives
Serve with tortilla chips.
I served this party dip at my 4th of July barbeque and it was a great success!!

Sorry the 4th has already passed, but your Labor Day barbeque guests will surely enjoy eating what Stevie eats.

LOL - the book was printed in 1988, so I'm guessing NO.
And just for completionists' sake, here's Mick's recipe from the same book. He and Stevie comprise the publication's "Fleetwood Mac" section, and are listed opposite one another on facing-pages:
WHAT MY GIRLFRIEND SARA COOKS FOR ME
serves six (Some Kind of Shrimp Thing)
2-1/2 lbs raw shelled shrimp
1-1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1-1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
4 cloves chopped fresh garlic
7 cups chicken broth (preferably home-made)
1-1/4 cups chopped green onion
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
French bread
Melt 1/2 cup butter in heavy large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add shrimp, mushrooms, and garlic, and saute just until shrimp are pink (about a minute - don't overcook). Stir in boiling chicken broth, green onion, and parsley. Remove from heat and add remaining butter, mixing until melted. Ladle into heated bowls and serve immediately with hot French bread.
"Then eat on"
-- Mick Fleetwood
I hope I got everything right -- Mick's recipe is printed at an angle, and jumps across the fold of the page, with some of the words disappearing into the crack. If you make it, and it tastes like crap, I apologize. ;)

Here's a photo of her kitchen in the Arizona house. This was on sale on eBay a few months ago, so I can't confirm it it's genuine or not....

It looks dated. That must be from a very long time ago. I think I've seen a more recent one so it must have been re-done since that pic.

You can see a little bit of the kitchen in the Enchanted tour books - well, the tile on the backsplash anyway.

I think it was that magazine, In Style, where a few years ago they did an article about her home in Los Angeles and she was having a small party with friends for her TISL release. And she did not do the cooking, but it told the menu for the night and then posted the recipes in the magazine. I do have the magazine, but it'd buried somewhere at the moment in the basement. If anyone is interested in the recipes, let me know, and when I come across the magazine, I'll copy it and post it here. It was a salmon dish, and then some chocolate mousse type of dessert, I think. And it showed pics of her home in LA and it was really pretty. And there were red rosed Don Henley sent her, and she mentions something about how he always sends her a certain type of rose. I remember thinking, I wonder how Don's wife feels about Stevie talking about him sending her roses. That may have been the same article that also mentioned the scents she likes to wear - making her own from essential oils.

MAMMA MARIA'S PORTUGUESE STEAKS
To feed four
cooking time 15 mins
Ingredients:
4 filet mignons
3 cups sliced mushrooms
1 cup double cream
2 tablespoons worchestershire sauce
3 tablespoons tomato ketchup
4 oz unsweetened butter
6 large cloves of garlic (or more if you're feeling anti-social!)
1 oxo cube (or any beef boullion cube)
To Prepare:
Using half the butter, saute mushrooms in a separate skillet and put aside (add a little salt & pepper if you wish) Beat the steaks with a meat mallet to about 3/4" thick and trim off the fat - don't throw it away yet! Heat the remaining butter in another skillet, crush the garlic with a pressor into butter. On a high heat, sear the steaks both sides, add the bits of fat and let them cook slowly (about 6-8 minutes for pink in the middle) - meantime mix the cream, ketchup, and worchestershire sauce in a bowl with salt and pepper. Chuck out the bits of fat now! Remove the steaks from skillet and turn off heat. Now, add the cream mixture to the steak juice - don't do it over heat, it will curdle! Put back on medium heat, adding the mushrooms and their juice. Sprinkle in the boullion cube. Return the steaks, turning once in the sauce. Cook a couple more minutes, low heat, and serve!
Now, about the only healthy part of this meal is the salad you serve it with! So those watching cholesterol levels, beware --- Anyway, this is my husband's favorite way to eat steak so I hope you enjoy it too!

Pfft Stevie doesn't use a kitchen anyway...and if she did, she would use a cauldron over a woodfire, and certainly would still use an ice-chest, no stainless stell fridge for Stevie!

Christine's recipe in that book (Mama Maria's Portuguese Steaks) is REALLY good. Tiff has all the recipes (plus John's, which is also pretty good) on bluewhitefire.
WHAT???
OK - upon further inspection of the book, I now see that the previous 2 pages are Christine & John's recipes. L.O.L. I've had this book for nearly 20 years, and I never knew those were in there too.
"...said 'open your eyes' - YEAH!!!"
But, in my defense, Stevie and Mick have rock-style posed pics which are very clearly "them". Christine's pics are candid-style, with her wearing a chef's hat and "Kiss the Cook" apron, posing with a guy I'm assuming to be Eddie Quintela. And John just has a penguin graphic - no pic of him, but how stupid of me. I mean - every time I see the commercial for the new "March of the Penguins" movie, what's the first thing I think about??? John...
The whole thing is really a scream. They even have "non-edible" recipes, of which my favorite is Grace Slick's "How to Cook a Head".

That kitchen....is horrid. I think we need to sign Stevie up for one of those HGTV shows....Debbie Travis' Painted House, Design On A Dime....or Divine Design....or Designers Challenge! Hell, looking at that kitchen, it might take all four shows to get it up to date!

Here are other pics that were part of the same auction. If you look at the style of furniture and the clothes hanging on the racks, you can tell it's from the early to mid 80s. What's with the clothing racks we keep seeing? Couldn't she have paid someone to build a celebrity closet? :D I love the window in the piano picture!

"On this Thanksgiving Day Eve~ here in Phoenix, my family and I are preparing to have a big celebration tomorrow~ and we are having lots of fun tonight getting it all ready. Pies are being made (most important) and all the food is being made ready tonight so tomorrow won’t be quite so crazy."
( OH-kay I admit she didn't flat-out say she made them herself! . . . :] )

Oh my God! I love the Ledge! Where do you guys find these quotes? So awesome! Sounds like she played a role in preparing the food. Hard to say how much of it is catered though! Man, if I could, I'd have my breakfast catered for crying out loud!

On another note, do you ever see pictures of someone else and think it's you for a second? That's happened to me before. anyway, I thought this lady sittin down in the upper right hand corner was me for one sec. My boob looks better, though. Wow!! Those are some incredible properties... whew! I love the one with the columns in the master bedroom. I have columns between my dining and living room.
If those older pictures ARE from Stevie's house, it's probably from one she leased many years ago. She's obviously lived in several different properties over the years, being the "nomad" that she is... I'm sure some of those houses weren't exactly fabulous. Just a thought.

I'm with you brother! But not Divine Design, where every room comes out steel blue and dark brown. Debbie is too color happy. Design on a Dime could be too cheap for La Nicks, but having 3 designers work together mellows eachother out to come up with some really cool ideas.
Those bedroom pics? No way. Those cheap curtains and the cheese papasan chair? Even in the 80's, I think she had better decorating style. Unless that bedroom was actually a walk-in closet.

The pics sold on ebay come from a reliable source. If you look at her round bed in the 80's pics and look at the pics in the Style mag., it's the same round bed. The 80's pics might have been from right when she bought it, there's also 80's pics of the music room and of her pool back then, it's also the same pool in the Style mag pics. :wavey:
