Thanks Mario!
Very interesting.
Wonder if the Daniel Boone vocal was overdubbed?
From what I recall he was only involved in the overdubbing
on "kolors"?

This is a good question, but still without its answer.....

As far as I'm concerned both Daniel Boone vocals and Bob Bowman slide guitar were overdubbed.......

As soon as I wil get the "White Sky" reissue, maybe we will know something more, as it features both "Big Boy Now" and "Funky Jam" (also on Kolors),so maybe they are different version, without the overdubs.

While browsing through Amazon's F. Mac listings,
I came across this:

Men of the World [BOX SET]
~Fleetwood Mac
Sanctuary (Audio CD) - September 26, 2005
Not yet released

Does anyone know what's gonna be on this? Mario?
Hopefully not yet another compilation of the Showbiz/Vaudeville material?

ps. hope the lawsuit is settled soon

I don't know what's on it, but I HOPE that "Dragonfly" and "Purple Dancer" would be on it. But, that seems unlikely.

Got the reissues yesterday too!
I must say the unreleased tracks are great. Just another guy is up there with
the best PVK numbers now, great vocal! I never thought must of Whatcha gonna do, but it's just great with the female vocals.
Sadly, none of the Kolors tracks are in undubbed versions. Not even on the White sky reissue. Funky jam maybe was a great track originally, as Peter wanted it on White sky, but it's awful with that slide guitar pissing all over it.
Also, i don't understand why Martin doesn't mention the overdubs in the liner notes. Would have been interesting to hear the story about that. Jeff Whittaker was guilty? Nice photo of the White sky though! Peter looks happy and quite healthy i think!

I haven't bought the reissues yet.. but I WILL!!

But I was wondering if this "new" version on "Whatcha Gonna Do" might have the guitar solo played by that session guitarist? -The one that Michael Green was remembering.

To my ears it's definitely Greeny who solos on the new version.
99 % sure...

But the solo on "Big boy now"? That's Bob Bowman I guess.
Sounds a little like old-time Greeny, but too forceful.
What do you say, daniel?

Thanks Dino!

"Big Boy Now"..hmm.. I'll put it on now and see. I haven't thought of it much, but you're right. It is very forceful compared to Peter's other solos at that time.

Hi again Dino,

I've listened to "Big Boy Now" today, and I am really not sure about the solo...

Yes, it is quite forceful, and not that "Greenish".. if you know what I mean.
But on the other hand I think it's quite similar to Peter's playing on "White Sky"..

Why?
"Dragonfly" was on 'The Best of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac'.
"The purple dancer" is still one my (two) favourite FM songs (the other one is the B.B. King song "I've got a mind to give up living" (a.k.a. "All over again") from "The Original Fleetwood Mac Blues Band" (Live at Fillmore West, January 4, 1970)).
It really deserves being released on CD.
