There are several remixes out there by Stevie and FM, but if you guys had to pick one favorite (and i'm not including those bootlegged crappy sounding so-called "Diva Remixes"), which one would you pick???

my choice?

Hmmm... The Little Lies remix for the extra Stevie vocals! I also love the loud clapping noises. Speaking of which, can anyone post this remix on their website or send it to me via email? I only have this on vinyl and I don't travel with a record player!

On a different note, I heard a rumour that there is a The Nightmare remix! True or false? Because I would love to get my hand on that. I love the Nightmare.

There's actually two different "Nightmare" remixes.. both are very different from each other and from the original.. both are very cool versions

Oh the Planets one are great! Normally I can't stand those kinds of remixes but those are actually good!

The Landslide remixes I kind of like because it puts a fresh spin on thirty year old vocals! lol

I really like that Jellybean remix version of 1987's Little Lies. You can hear Stevie at the end of it saying "sweet lies"...."no, no, you just cant disguise"...her vocal is very distinct.

This new DeepDish version of Dreams is very promising too.

And I much prefer Chris Lord Alge's mix of the song Say You Will than the album version.

I'm completely living under a rock as far as demos, mixes, and bootlegs go. Is there anyone that could do one of those trades where I send mulitple blank CDs and postage and then you could send me back a copy of the remixes? I would just love to break into this bootleg trading business but I have nothing to trade with!

The Wall of Sound version. It gives me chills. Sharon and Lori are on it as well (unless it's Sharon and Mindy which is possible) singing the backing vocal line, "so overwhelming, baby. There's nothing left to say. Don't say you're sorry, baby. Think you should walk away..." It's a fierce vocal for Lindsey and Stevie.

I think The Leg might have them up for download. I'll have to check --

If you want to hear an excellent version of Stevie on Big Love, try and track down Stevie and Lindsey on David Letterman back in 1998 after they were inducted into the R&RHOF. It's amazing

The Nightmare "vocal special mix" rocks. I also looooove the Long Way to Go 12" extended remix. Honorable mention: the Big Love remix with the extra Stevie vocals, the Tracy Young remix of POTU, and the so-called Wall of Sound version of Thrown Down. I'm not sure if that counts as a remix. The girls' backup vocals needed to stay on that, though (shutup Josh  :xoxo: ).

One of my favorite remixes right now is the alternate mix of Rock A Little that's on the flipside of the British I Can't Wait 12" single. It's pretty nice, longer, and has some extra vocals.

My favorite Stevie remix ever is definitely the extended Seven Wonders.

I too love The Nightmare remix from the flipside of the US 12" I Can't Wait single, but the one from the 9/17 master reel I like better.

OMG. Dog was petted down. I had a crazy girl from the audience get up and help me with the power choruses. Not nearly as good as you and Tiff and Merf would have been I am sure. She took my cowboy hat for a minute. Shot through the heart and SHE was to blame. Pushy bitch ! But at least she knew the words. And you KNOW I later had to do Wanted Dead Or Alive. My favorite is still the extended Stand Back mix with a lil taste Edge of 17 and Rhiannon thrown into the middle. The sad little 80's sound explosive effects throughout the song date it for all eternity (not that it isn't already dated) but still it remains my favorite just for the way the song is rearranged, plenty of "la la lala, la la la lala's" all over the place.

I think the song that benefitted most from being remixed is Long Way to Go. The organ-ish sounding intro is a big improvement. There are a few other little differences that I like also. It is extended so it needs to be trimmed a bit.

Wow I had a lot of time catching up on this thread haha...

I have this version of I can't wait where it starts out with just the keyboard thing, and instead of the backup girls singing "i can't wait" they say "yes I know you" before stevie starts singing....that's a good one

I do have the nightmare remixes and love those as well...

Haven't heard the big love remix yet...

Seven Wonders and Little Lies are okay, they're a bit slow if you ask me...

POTU remix I have two of them, and I think they are both done by Tracy, one is the famous one we all know, but I have another one with the same sound but less vocals (more for like the club)

I also have to say, I have the diva remix of POTU and I find it to be quite nice...it's more watered down if you know what I mean, but at the same time I can see where it wouldn't be so popular.

Long way to go... love it moreso than the album (although I love the album version a lot too)

Thrown Down WOS I wish it could have been on the album, but at the same time I wish it was a little more up-tempo like the actual syw thrown down. That could have been a big single for them.

Now nobody has mentioned this, but in the Rocking A Little compilation...there's a master reel of rock a little that has extra lyrics at the end, and the drums sound a little bit heavier - this is my favorite remix ever.

and yes big love with the stevie circles was fun to watch...

perhaps I could post some more remixes on my website in the future :)

Nah, it's not that rare, and it's the same radio remix that was aired in the US. I'll email it to you. Send me a PM with your email addy if you are interested. It runs about 4:18, and is actually nearly identical to the LP version, except for an extra lyric towards the end...which consists of Sharon and Lori singin "A look...a touch...". RAL has always been one of my favorite Stevie songs and I can't stop listening to this. I finally know what she says in the regular version because she says it more clearly in this one and I loooove when the girls sing in the end after she does "That is how songs are written
Stories are told, rumours are started". Now the question is how could this not have been the album version? The album version is much too short and simply a watered down version of this :distress: :distress:
If you haven't heard find and download it NOW!!!

krrrby, which one of these two is the one that you posted?

not quite sure what version...when I downloaded it a long time ago it was labeled as a "special remix" it has like a guitar solo in the beginning before it starts like the regular track.

I have one where throughout the song they sing "nightmare, this is not the world, this is not the world" like it is the chorus, but this one sounds more like a remix

If you want, I can repost it on yousendit again?

Edit: I found the master reel, and that is not what I posted. I posted a remix. Gimme a second and I'll do everyone a favor lol

Brett is to Rock A Little as Curtis is to Street Angel

If I had time, I would bust out a Street Angel site.

Well let's see if you go to dreamhost.com 9.95 a month for like 2400 mb of storage and 120gb of bandwidth...

I got my domain name for like 7.95 a year...

50 bucks for the website template (the first one I had was free)

the new message board costs me about 24 bucks a year

It's all worth it though :)

Thanks Krrrby. Now I have the B-side remix and the master reel version to compare.

I prefer the remix version, for its more prominent plodding beat, and at the end it has a great tambourine part. Also at the end, I like how Stevie sings "How dare he" in a low forboding voice.

Thanks for the info.

I don't think I have the time to start one, though....Plus there are only so many SA shows and demos out there. No one would visit, either, but you, Kimberly, JStew, and ambah.
