I thought I would start a light hearted thread...after hearing about London Explosions...I could use one

As I am the ever curious one...I was wondering, What do you collect? If anything- Now, I don't mean Stevie and/or FM stuff- That doesn't count-
I mean things, items- whatever that you are just drawn towards and keep.

I collect moons-
pendants, earrings, all different phases, different metals, even crystal moon catchers, pictures, books, I just adore the moon and find her facinating-

Anyone else care to share?

I have absouletly NO idea why....
but when I was a child (like 6, 7 8 years old) I used to collect keys...???
Old keys that went to------ who knows what/where....
I found them on the ground, in the woods-I just was always finding keys...Isn't that odd?

I must have collected around 60 or so before I realized..."what the hell was I going to do with them" anyway???
haha
perhaps I should have saved them and you could put them on your keyrings
just another collection memory-

Mostly music of all kinds:
LPs/CDs/DVDs/mp3s

Movies (VHS/DVD)...started to collect LaserDiscs, but that format is now, for all intents, obsolete.

Not so much as before, but I still have a HUGE collection of Penguin artifacts (tschotskes, stuffed toys, etc)

I collect classic automatic washing machines and dryers, and try to retore them and get them running -- kinda like collecting classic automobiles, but much smaller. I'm interested in machines from the first in 1947 until about 1979 when General Motors sold their Frigidaire division to WCI. If anyone here knows of an old automatic in their grandmother's basement or out behind the garage, please let me know!

Pens and fridge magnets from every city I visit. I keep pen "bouquets" in coffee mugs at work...

When I was a kid and my grandparents began to travel a lot, they decided to start me a doll collection. I have dolls from all over the world.

Anything having to do with music, especially vinyl, but also CDs, mp3s, tapes, magazines, books, VHS, and DVDs.

I also collect angels and penguins: ceramic, stuffed, etc.

I also collect candles. I'm a candle fanatic. :] My favorites for scent are Yankee Candles' Buttercream, and Island Soap and Candle Works' Coconut. My non-traditional favorite candle is my Magic Candle. It is sooooo cool! It continuously changes color while it is lit.

I collect keychains (last I remember counting, I had about 350 or so).

I've been a huge fan of castles since I was a kid and have quite a few castle items. The largest castle-themed item is this Thomas Kincade painting:

I also have lots of records from my fave artists too.

What a cool thread...it's really interesting to find out a little more about everyone.

In addition to music, I also collect moons and stars, winged hearts (not that easy to come by...but the collection is growing) and dragons. I've also collected "Bewitched" stuff for years.

My interest in photography is growing, so I'm starting to collect cameras and photos albums, too!

I mainly collect singles/LPs/cds/dvds by my favorite artists. Although Stevie is my absolute favorite (by far), I also have quite extensive collections of Sandra Bernhard, Sheila E, Corey Hart, 3p (German label), Diana Ross, Chaka Khan, Indigo Girls, Ivana Spagna, Raf and Etienne Daho.

I also collect Nike sneakers, soccer outfits and vampire movies... Yes, I'm weird ;-)

I collect dust bunnies, dryer lint, miscellaneous items throughout my home that belong to two teenagers, bread twist ties, every single make-up/facial related item purchased within the past two decades, bags from the grocery store, boxes, pens that don't work, cancelled checks dating back to 1984, etc. Linda Goodman had me pegged.

Really though - I have a huge Dr. Pepper collection, currently on loan to a museum in Dublin, TX (where they still make REAL DR. PEPPER). My grandfather was a VP of DP and it was all his stuff dating back to 1929.

I have a decent autograph collection that I personally got from the people I have met including Stevie, James Taylor, Jackson Browne and others.

I also am a candle addict and we Stevie/Lindsey/FM fans seem to share the same passion for Yankee - Buttercream. I also love "For Everybody" candles scented as Birthday Cake, Chocolate Chip Cookie, and Sugar Cookie. My house smells like I am baking all the time. I'm such a cheater! :o

Well, I dont have too much anymore. I was one of those that thought I had to have everything under the sun. And eventually I just decided that a smaller collection, with the most important things to me was what I wanted. So I just have a frame of the 4 Rolling Stone covers, the 25 year chain promo [poster autographed by the big 5, the Spring tour 1975 poster, and my 2 frames of pictures that I took on the SYW tour, one in San Diego on 7-19-03, and one from Green Bay on 5-12-04. Oh and one more thing, the frame I had made ith the pictures from when I met Mick, Lindsey, and Peter Green.

I collect WAY the hell too much! If I am remotely into something, I feel a need to collect it. I have REALLY tried to curb this trend, as I have a home and storage until filled w/ crap that I have long since outgrown.

My Mom thought it was a good idea for me to have a hobby at a young age, so she says "start collecting something." Thanks Mom. First it was an obsessions w/ Lynda Carter & Wonder Woman. SO, now, somewhere in my storage unit are the remnants of Maybelline ads w/ LC, and WW glasses that you got w/ Happy Meals in the 70's. Then I had a Marilyn Monroe obsession. That too is in storage. BOXES of it. I still am quite fond of MM but realized that a never-ending "end" in sight (cause there is just SO much of MM out there) was sort of disappointing, so I laid off that habit. Next up was/is SN/FM, and that is the only passion I have had for 20+ years, that just gets stronger yearly. Since "knowing" FM/SN, I have been into 2 other music acts that I collect diligently on, but other than music related stuff, I am a David Lynch fanatic, so I have a lot of his stuff, movies, photos, magazines, etc.

I went thru an X-Files addiction. I still love the show and it's cast ardently but I literally have my weight in crap about the X-Files, collecting dust in my storage unit. Sad really. So much money in all this stuff. I recently sold a lot of my Gary Oldman memorabilia, mostly magazines, to help fund the Las Vegas trips. Was sad to see it go, but happy that someone adored it, spent money on it, and it's now all out of my storage! LOL Selling the rest wouldn't be an issue, but markets for any of the above mentioned is pretty bare, or overflooded in the X-Files sense. Ahwell.

I collect glass paperweights, grateful dead bears, mystery-suspense-thriller novels, Red Sox stuff, CDS and DVDS. I also collect sterling silver charms.

Hmm, interesting topic.

I collect ladyslipper orchids, certain toys, silver coins, out of print US currency, music of all sorts - but I'm obsessive about CD singles and vinyl.

I also collect books, boyfriends, friends, and, uh, apparently, upon close inspection of my pantry, I also collect empty mason jars.

I used to collect Boyds Bears (stuffed and statues) and Beanie Babies and also the Disney Pooh beanies...... there is just too much of that stuff and I had to stop--it was getting pretty overwhelming!! So now I have tubs of the stuff that I really need to get rid of :0P I just never have the time--and you can't hardly give away a Beanie Baby these days......... I thought if I collected the tiny "mini bears" that I would have room for those--but you can even get too many of those!! LOL!! Oh--and I have Calico Kitten statues.......I did get rid of my Cherished Teddies a long time ago though-----I think I have a collection problem :p

I read and collect manga, which are Japanese graphic novels, some Breyer horses and finally I own almost all of the Muppet action figure line. Those are truly my pride and joy - they make me laugh everytime I look at them. (Does anyone notice a very strange similarity between Mick Fleetwood and Animal?? )

I had a passion for makeup, haircare and skincare and was always looking for the "next big thing," but that's been curtailed over the last few years because you soon come to realize that the 10 shades of plum lipstick you own really are all about the same, lol. My Stevie collection is small, but I'm working on it.

I also have a rather peculiar obsession with vacuum cleaners. I have collected quite a few in my search for the best one yet.

Here's some pics of my Muppet collection:

:wavey: How long did it take you to collect all of those? The only collectable figures that I have are two original Care Bear figures from the 80s that never left my side as a toddler :D I have Love-a-Lot Bear (pink) & Bedtime Bear (blue). I guess I didn't like their real names, because I used to call them 'Lovey & Sleepy Bear' (I'd post some pics too, but my closet is a little too much on the scary side to start a Care Bear hunt) Did you have any of these as a kid, or did start collecting them as an adult?

My Muppet collection started back in 2002 (I think). Palisades Toys introduced the line back then and I kept up with the new releases as well as I could. I had to lay off for awhile because it was getting expensive, but then I went back and bought the missing ones I didn't have. The most important thing is to try and buy them as they're released though so you don't have to pay anything more than what they're worth! I was lucky to get a bunch on sale for even less than they originally sold for, but it's easy to get ripped off if you're not careful.

Palisades just announced the release of a Sesame Street action figure line and I'm sooo going to be in trouble. I already have a Super Grover exclusive, and the first wave is due out in October. Ooh boy...

PS...Carei, I have a few vintage Care Bear figures too. I collect almost exclusively Grumpy Bear, who I've adored since I was a 9 year old kid!

Its funny that you like Grumpy Bear....my grandpop would tease me when I was little that I should have only Grumpy Bear, because I was a moody little girl & I was always pouting  I had my own name for him too! I would call him "Cloud Bear", I didn't think he was grumpy at all :)

Cloud Bear! How cute! I wanted Grumpy because I always have been a sort of Grump and somehow he felt like a kindred spirit to me. I still have my original plush from 1985, and he is so worn, yet still means a lot to me. My dad and I nicknamed him "Grumpas Maximus." Gosh knows where that came from, but my dad would make up all kinds of storylines involving Grumpy - it was a great creative outlet!

In 2002 they also began re-releasing the Care Bears and I bought a few Grumpy items. He'll always be my favorite, although Good Luck is a close second. :)

I'm pretty sure I had the Cheer Bear (aka Rainbow Bear) plush. God knows what happened to it! I think my mom had to toss him because of the flood in our basement when I was eight, and he became moldy :distress: I always wanted Good Luck Bear (aka Shamrock/Irish Bear).... Everyone in my family went on a manhunt for this thing one Christmas, but could never get their hands on one. Very disappointed on Christmas morning..... I believe that was also the year I called Santa a "big fat phoney"
