This unclear lyric has been bothering me for 20 years...

"One More Big Time Rock & Roll Star" (No, the song hasn't been bothering me for 20 years. I love this song. Just one line in the song. All you haters of OMBTRRS just quit RIGHT NOW! That means you, Dissention...)

She's singing a long, la la la la la, and then she gets to the long-held notes of:
"Undercovaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh
Music lovahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Undercovaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh
Music lovahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..."

AND THEN WHAT IS THE NEXT LINE THAT SHE SINGS???

"Wild in Kansas"???
"Wild and crazies"???
"Why can save ants"???

 Someone please help me ease my troubled mind...

Are there any other lyrics out there that are just unintelligible to your ears?

I believe the part that's to be deciphered is Stevie hacking up an 80's hairball. But that's just me.  :p

I think that is just a "Oh hey, hey!" If we are thinking about the same thing, then I don't think it is anything other then that.

Honestly, I think she's just singing, "oh, yeah, yeah, hey heeeeeyyyyyyy..." Or some variation thereof.

Don't think there's any mysterious line.

And by the way, I love this song. :p

Agreed. Just some oh's and hey's. Stevie at her best!

ahahahha. I'm just kidding. I should have said really, I don't know as well, and that I'm just as interested in knowing. Funnier is that I find myself singing to that part when it's playing, and I can't even figure what I am saying. Prolly just hummin' to myself, cause dagnabbit, I don't know the words either. BTW, that song's a gem IMO. For years I had it on casette, but my 45 skipped, right at the "music lover like me" so I just always sang along to that part like 3 times in a row before it skipped along on it's way. When someone made me a new tape w/ a skip-free version, was weird. Like oh yea, you DON'T have to listen to it all messed up.

I always thought it was something like, "and, well, they came here" or "and how they compare."

It's definitely one of the biggest "what did she just say" mysteries in Stevie's canon.

Wait, I found the tape. It's so funny. I still have it. She skips at the part where it's "Say I'm not, cause the world just gets, just gets, just gets, just gets...harder. Whoooooaaahahahha. Undercover......." LMFAO. For like 10 years I'd listen to it that way, cause it was the only version I had playable. Guess you'd just have to have a listen to find it amusing. Stevie, stuck in a groove.

See? This is why I told y'all to QUIT in the beginning. This is serious (as I try to throw the hater white dove up into the air and instead it poops in my palm)...

Kato: Thanks for the recap of the lyrics, but this line is not in print anywhere. :wavey:

There is more enunciation there than just "Whoa, hey, hey, baby, baby, baby, well, well..."

I'd have to listen to it again, but I'm thinking it's more like

Undercover....
Music Lover...
Wild and crazeeehhhh....

although "cumbiya" cracked me up........ :D

Undercover music lover
Undercover music lover
Oh, undercover music lover and an art lover like me
There were candles, crystals, I was anyone's fantasy
Say I'm not 'cause the work just gets harder
The work gets...
Oh, one more big time...
One more big time...
One more big time...
It sounded good on a delicate white-ribbon card...
