My 11 year old step-son was going thrift store shopping with my mother yesterday, so I gave him $10 to get something for himself. When I came home from work, he gave me The Other Side of the Mirror on cassette (I actually do have a cassette player in my car, along with a CD player). I thought that was just the cutest thing, ever. Anyway, I haven't listened to this in a long time, and I am really re-enjoying it. It's bringing back a lot of memories, and her voice sounds so strong.

I really like that record and consider it her atteempt to branch out from the pop stuff; pop at that time was Whitney Houston, and a lot of power ballads from long hair pseudo metal bands like Ratt, Poison, etc. - and it was moving into grunge. ZI do not think it worked all that well for her in that the sound is too synth. But, I really like a lot of the songs on that disc

That was sweet of him.
I personally don't care for that album. I just don't like all the keyboards, and Rupert Hine for that matter. I think it could have been a lot better than what it turned out. Stevie's vocals are great on it, it's just the music part that I don't like. I do like everything about Ooh My Love and Rooms on Fire though.

By the way Janet, I love your banner.

That is so precious. It's those moments that you live for, as Stevie so eloquently said.

I, for one, love TOSOTM.

That is so sweet and thoughtful! How neat. Especially from an 11 year old boy. :p Very cute. I will spare you my opinion of OSOTM, since that was not at all the point of what you said. :) Sounds like you're raising your son well. :woohoo:

That's very cute! :blob1:

My neighbors daughter who is ten instant messaged me the other day on AOL. This is how the convo basically went...

Her- Do you like Britney Spears?

Me- Not really! Why?

Her- Just wondering since you have her picture on your instant messengner.

Me- LOL. No, that is Stevie Nicks. That is not Britney Spears.

Her- Oh it looks like her.

I thought that was so funny. Stevie compared to Britney Spears!

You just tell her not to worry, that Aunt Paula will be there one of these days to show her a magical DVD with all of Stevie's videos on it & we can watch it together over & over again.

I love OSOTM. Had it in the car today while me and mom went to BJ's. Great great record.

Am I the only one who likes Fire Burning and Cry wolf?

I like both of those, too. I really love Doing the Best that I Can, also. I think he may be sorry he did this for me, as I've been playing the hell out of it in the car. ;)

Thank you for all your comments about Tyler- he *is* a very sweet boy. I'm lucky to have him in my life.
