I wish I had taken out my bigger lens and shot more than 3 photos, but this is what I got. I'm working on typing up some comments and observations as well.

From looking at your photo in other threads, I think you were sitting in the row in front of us, but 2 seats over to the left (as you are facing the stage). You seemed to be having a GREAT time. :)

Thanks for sharing, girls!! What kind of camera were you using?? They almost look painted--picture two is very cool.

Thanks....I'm a little disappointed in them because I've done much better. I have a 35mm Canon Rebel G camera. I had the regular lens on. I had my 300mm zoom with me too, but I didn't put it on. I'm regretting that now. It's hard to get clear photos without the flash so that explains the slightly fuzzy, sort of painted look. The original photos are much clearer but I cropped them and that added to the fuzziness. :)

How did you get in and NOT get caught with it!? I have a Canon Rebel K2 35mm camera but I have yet to try it at a concert. What film speed did you use? They really did not come out too bad. They have that fuzzy wuzzy look that we all seemed to get no matter what type of camera we had. Maybe they had anti-photography lights on the stage. I tried to take a few with my digital with the flash on in Vegas and all it did was get a great photo of the people's heads in front of me. Sometimes even the flash does not work unless you are right in front of them. At one point at the Mansfield show Don came right over to the side of the stage right in front of where I was sitting. He was in total darkness. I mean no light at all. The flash might have gotten me in trouble so I have a black ink darkness photo of Don.

I used 1600 Speed film which I've had a lot of luck with in the past.

I took these from the 17th row in Tupelo http://www.eaglesfans.com/band/tourjournal/tupelo.htm

And I took these in London with the big lens

http://www.eaglesfans.com/band/europe/biglenslondon.htm .

One of the benefits of being overweight is that you can slide a lot of stuff in your bra. That's how the camera usually goes in to a show. It's just hard because Don knows who we are, so we can't be sitting there with a giant lens pointed at him...knowing how he feels about photos at concerts.

Must have been Fuji 1600 speed film. I got the best results with that myself when I used my 35mm point and shoot for my 2003 Fleetwood Mac photos.

Your photos are fantastic! I love the ones from London! How far back were you then? Did you use a flash for any of those photos? Did you use any special settings for the photos?

Sorry for all of the questions. I am into photography. I loved taking photos at the Mac shows. I took a 4 week photography class in April at AAA. I loved it but they do not cover concert photography.

Yeah, it's Fuji 1600 speed since that's all camera stores seem to have.

I was in the 4th row in London. It was the last show we were going to see so for the last two songs I said what the heck and put the 300mm zoom on.

I set the camera to the sport setting because that has the fastest shutter speed and no flash. I also put black tape over the red eye reduction light. There's really no point in using a flash unless you're very close. I never use a flash since flashes are only good for about three feet....so you get lovely shots of the backs of heads when you use the flash. :)

I've had to learn through lots of trial and error how to take decent concert photos.....and when I finally had it down, I started getting seats in the front row all the time and I couldn't take photos anymore. Such is life, I guess. :)

Okay--maybe this is a stupid question--but why no photos from the front row?? I've heard others have taken photos from the front row and we did for the last Fleetwood Mac show so I'm just curious because you are the second person I have heard this from......

The Eagles and Don have a very strict no cameras rule and I personally think it's rude to have a camera out when you sit that close, especially if you use a flash. Also, Don knows who we are so we don't want to make him angry by having a camera. I only take photos when I know he can't see me.

I think it's rude for anyone to use a flash at a show no matter where you're sitting - very annoying to the artist. Plus you don't really need it - the stage is too far away for it to work well anyway, and who wants the back of everyone's heads brighter in their picture?

I don't think people realize that it's bothersome or that the stage lights are usually bright enough to light up the subject.
