Hey everyone, I'll try to keep this short but I just wanted to say that I saw the Hershey show last night and it was by far the best Stevie performance I have *ever* seen.
She was so into it. From the moment she walked out, I could tell she was in a good mood and ready to have fun. She danced around, smiled and laughed all night, and never once hit a sour note. The difference between her voice now and her voice on SYW and TISL is striking; notes that she strained to hit two years ago ("TAKE me like the wind") now sound effortless.
The amount of twirling was almost out of control. She spun during: "Gold Dust Woman" (after her and Don's slow dance, he held her arm up and she spun beneath him -- reminiscent of the "Rumours" cover), "Stand Back," "Edge of Seventeen" (for at least a full minute or two) AND "So You Want to Be a Rock and Roll Star" (during the instrumental breaks). After the "Gold Dust" twirl she went up to the mic and said, "That was FUN!"
"Beauty and the Beast" sounded just as powerful as the Vegas boots I have heard, if not more so. My only wish was that I hadn't heard this rendition before so it could have been a surprise, but alas... I don't have enough self-control! :D
"Outside the Rain" gibberish was high and mighty.
I did the "Edge" rush and shook her hand, which I'd never done before. The scream on "Edge" was epic. I'm not exaggerating when I say it went way beyond the call of duty!
She looks staggeringly beautiful in the white "Edge" skirt -- very flattering, and there was a A LOT of bosom and booty shaking going on the whole show! I've never seen her move around so much.
One weird thing I noticed was that during either "New York Minute" or "Last Worthless," Stevie put her hand up in front of Don in a playful manner and he sort of grabbed it and pulled it down, seemingly annoyed. Stevie glanced at the audience, looking slightly embarrassed, but with an, "Oh, it's just Don" look on her face.
I sat in the fourth row with Marissa (GardenStateGirlie), who was awesome. Brian (LiquidBlue5000) and Mariel (xxxmx) were also there and ready to rock. I second all those who said this is a tour not to be missed -- Don's presence seems to motivate her to perform at her absolute best.
So much for keeping this short! :sorry:

It was during Last Worthless Evening. You misunderstood what was going on there. Usually when Don sings the line "I've been around the block a time or two" he counts out 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. on his hand. In Jones Beach and Pitts. Stevie was counting with him. Last night they finally got their little act together and Stevie did the counting and Don playfully knocked her hand down.....like saying, awww...shut up, I have not been around the block that many times. It was really cute.

OK, yeah, maybe I misinterpreted. It's hard to tell whether he's joking or not because he never smiles!
Amazing show, though, right?

I have to defend my man here. <G> Don smiles all the time. He smiled a lot last night...esp. with Waddy. They were joking around quite a bit.
It was a great show. We thought Hershey was Stevie's best performance of the three shows we saw. She was really on fire and just loving the crowd. Gold Dust Woman was just incredible.

Very nice review, thanks for sharing with us. I can't wait to see this sh**. Although I'm kinda scared we might be getting "worn out, been touring a long time" Stevie. :( It sounds like she's doing so well, though, that it might sustain her through many shows. :)

He did seem to loosen up considerably during Stevie's set. During "So You Wanna," he was beaming at something Stevie did. And it seems like he's happy to play along with her "Leather and Lace" shenanigans now (where she offers him the shawl).

I understand your fears, but yeah, we've gotta stay positive. Her band is absolutely CRACK on this tour -- maybe her best solo band ever -- and I think they will continue to inspire her.
As Brian pointed out, it's best if you can see her on a night when she's had a day off, and with a day of rest coming up (as was the case in Hershey). Then I don't think she feels the need to conserve as much energy.

It was great to meet you all last night :wavey: Even though she pulled a great performance, I'd have to say I enjoyed Don more last night than in Philadelphia and enjoyed Stevie more in Philadelphia than Hershey. I thought she petered out a bit halfway through her set. Her energry was nowhere near the level it was on opening night although i'm not sure what to attribute that to. Still, I loved every second of it

Yup. I like opening night better myself. Stevie and Don were cute during LWE with the counting. I thought it was quite adorable. It will be interesting to see if Stevie keeps up the same level of energy and enthusiasm after Don leaves.

Although I'm kinda scared we might be getting "worn out, been touring a long time" Stevie.
I've been thinking the same thing, plus songs always get cut from the list before the tour reaches the west coast.
But it's a pretty short tour, so we may have nothing to worry about.
I'm really thinking about going to Reno. If it's the last night of the tour, she might go all out. :blob2:

But keep in mind you'll actually be hearing MORE Stevie stuff, because her set will be longer without Don. Though I have to say it's GREAT to hear her singing some new, non-standard material with him.
Also, you're right that she has a good chance of going *nuts* on closing night. She's got nothing to lose at that point!

That's what I'm worried about to that my the end of July she may have lost some of that energy :( Well at least my show is before yours hee hee! ;)
Also, when I first heard she was touring with Don I was so disappointed. I'm not a fan of his and I'd rather her not have to share the stage with anyone but after hearing about the shows, hearing bootlegs, and how energized she is a part of me actually thinks it would be cool to see them together (although if I had my choice I'd still rather see her solo). I almost died when I heard her duet on NY Minute. I LOVE that song and it's so freakin cool to hear her sing songs live that are not her songs. It was the first time I think I've ever heard her do someone else's song live (that she didn't record). I actually screamed in the car!

Yep, that was what I was thinking when I heard about the tour too. Actually, I just wanted her to get back in the studio and record some new music. But now that I've seen the show, it's hard to object to something that seems to give her -- and as a result us -- so much joy. :woohoo:

How rude of me, I didn't thank you for the great review
I may one of the few people left on this board who has very little desire to see the Two Voices concert. I'm enjoying the reviews and pics, and certainly sounds like the show is much better than I expected. But when it comes to my time and money, a shortened Stevie set is not appealing.
Then again, the added songs are just going to be ones I'll complain about like INTK and HAEWFY. :(

Honestly..I figure the amount of time we see Stevie is on par to her solo shows. The show runs a good three hours. Maybe 2 hours and 45 minutes with the stage break down but Stevie is around alot. They break it up just enough so the Nicks fans dont get bored with Don and vice versus.
I was really down about this tour but now I would rather see it than a solo show. She is happier than any solo venture I have ever seen. These shows make it even MORE glaringly obvious how subdued she was at the SYW shows. Not sure why that is but everything about her is wayyyy more relaxed now. Perhaps she is having more than ONE tequila shot before each show?

 could be... i have to agree, though... i think she puts herself out more when the pressure is off... i like the way she is when she is not alone... when there is someone else there to share the stage with her... it's usually always a fine performance

I agree with you. Don turned on the smiles more at this show than the other two that I attended. I also agree with your assessment of Don taking Stevie's hands as she was counting. She was being suggestive/funny and he was being funny back.
Stevie rocked Hotel California and Don did a fabulous job on Gold Dust Woman, with Stevie coming in doing back up at times, "and goooooo hooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmme". The drummer is amazing. I want to give him special props. Gold Dust Woman depends on the cadence of the drummer, and this new gentleman delivers.

I agree, Stevie is definitely looking happier on the solo tours. Some folks speculate she was pulling back a bit to give Lindsey time to shine since he was essentially releasing his solo album via Fleetwood Mac. Some folks said she had health issues going on. Some said she was angry about the sequencing of the album. Mick did indicate there was something that happened prior to the start of the tour that threatened it's happening. Who knows. We may never find out what goes on behind the curtain.
What seems clear is that Stevie looks fit, happy and puts on an incredible energized show. I agree with another poster who says this is an amazing band. Perhaps this is because a lot of them were already up and running with Stevie during the Fleetwood Mac show. Stevie specified Brett and Carlos as having been through all the shows with FM, and Jana did a fair share. "And didn't miss a note." ;) Stevie and Waddy did a great job picking out the new drummer and pianist.
Speaking of Waddy, he seems to be having a good time, joking around with both Stevie and Don. Last night Stevie called Waddy "the love of her life," and continues to come up with a funny new title for him at each show. They seem to be very good friends and Waddy has the band charged up. I hope this tour DOES last until December, and gives more people a chance to see them. I've read on fan sites there's a chance of Don coming back to do more shows with Stevie after The Eagles finish the Hotel Calfornia tour. Has anyone heard any more about that?

I agree with you. Waddy does seem to be a lot happier on this tour. On TISL Stevie kind of forced him to come and go on tour with her. Now he seems to want to come on every tour she does. I was surprised when I was listening to the Jimm Ladd interview that he came to her to see Celine and Elton's show and he was the one that was like how long do we have. I am glad he is with her again.I wonder how it must have felt for Carlos about being bumped out of the lead guitarist spot. He doesn't seem too happy these days IMO.

I can't believe how different Don Henley was at the Hershey show! I went to the CT show one week earlier and the man could of been a cardboard cutout with Stevie loving all over him!!!
Stevie's magic must be working on the guy. I thought he was animated..he kissed Stevie twice! I loved the slow dancing part..Stevie remarked "that was fun!" There was some banter back and forth and they held hands when they walked on and off stage.
One week ago Stevie grabbed her mike and sung "at" him and he looked straight ahead or sang with his eyes closed. At Hershey they really played off each other and sang to each other. It was very nice.
Don't get me wrong it was the same great music both nights but now the duets really are great because there appears to be some emotion on stage. :] :]

Stevie sounds like a giggling teenager right now, when she and Don were slow dancing and she said "that was fun" to her teasing him with the counting thing. It's obvious he's having more fun, too. You're right that she wasn't animated like that at all for SYW. Now, she looks and obviously feels better and is having a great time. Seeing her in Vegas and now reading these reviews and comparing how she is now to how she was last year, it's a staggering difference. I'm happy for the Eagles fans, but I really wish Don didn't have the commitment with them right now and could keep touring with Stevie. I really would like to see this. I saw a taste of it in Vegas, but it sounds like she keeps getting happier and is having a blast.

What was up with her during SYW?
Good question. It wasn't just SYW, though -- it was TISL too. I guess she was having her hip problems, and a lot of people have speculated about her going through menopause around that time. Both seem like good explanations.
Ironically, for someone who changes her set list so little, I think Stevie thrives on novelty. That's why she was so good during The Dance -- FM was back together and it was exciting. By SYW, the novelty had worn off a bit, and Christine wasn't there; I think she missed her friend. Now, she's on the road with Don, something she's never done before, and it's exciting for her.

I was at that show and in the front row, too. I am nice, however. I was with my friend Alex (Amoscascott) who was Lindsey's 'Come Girl". We had a blast but there was a weird vibe with the fans there that night. That stage was too high to see the whole show but we still had fun!

I was there too - it was a weird night. I met up with a bunch of fans from Mick's, then ended up meeting people from here through them. I'm just so popular with both groups, I guess.
That was one night I was happy that I had 5th row - that stage was miles high.

Yes, it was a great show, except for that damn high stage! I was there with my boyfriend and we both had a blast! I am so pissed that there is no video of the show. Just my luck!
I know it wasn't any of you that spoke to me because those people mentioned that they don't post on these boards . . . at least they didn't then . . . who knows if they are lurking now because that board is somewhat of tha ghost town now.
I wish I would have met all of you at that show!

Gee wiz, I wonder why? Could it have something to do with people's attitudes? How can you look down on Ledgies, this place is now an institution of Stevie/Mac fandom. :D It's really sad those people behaved that way. Sad for them.

There is and I have it on DVD! It is only up to GDW but it is still good. I don't know why the whole show wasn't filmed. Maybe the person had technical difficulty.
Check your PMs! If anyone else is interested in a trade or something for it just PM me. :)
