Okay, I am a total retard when it comes to directions. So, I am wondering if anyone knows where Red Rocks is in Colorado. It says it's by Morrison but where is Morrison? Near Denver? Anyone have any idea?

I live in Denver and there are a lot of good hotels. If you want to be downtown there is the Westin, Brown Palace, and Adams Mark. Those are a bit pricey but the area is nice and lots of restaurants, shopping, etc. Not sure of places in Morrison but downtown is not too far. We also have Staybridge Suites (one in Glendale which is very reasonable) but not near a lot- ie you have to drive to get anywhere. If I think of anything else will let you know.

Yea! It will be good to see you again! Maybe dinner again too? I may not buy through KBCO though, the seats aren't always that great. I won't be able to handle anything less than the first three rows. Congrats too! We'll all carry you up the stairs if needed! The sale is making me nervous!

I'm in Denver, too. Right downtown. In good traffic it takes maybe 20 minutes to get to Red Rocks. It's very easy to find, for those that have never been, and the scenery is amazing once you get there.

Tickets go on sale Saturday....

*edit: Tickets go on sale Monday 6/6/05.

Does anyone know what seating configuration thay are using for Stevie show at Red Rocks??

Seating for events is sold in three different configurations:

1. All General Admission (rows 1–70 are General Admission)
2. All Reserved (rows 1–70 are Reserved)
3. Split between G.A. / Reserved (rows 1–24 and 61–70 are General Admission; rows 25–60 are Reserved)

If its split between G.A. and Reserved (which starts at row 25!) Buying a reserved seat for $85 vs $45 could be a big deal. If Red Rocks is anything like it used to be if you line up early before the gates open 2 hours before showtime-you pretty much used to be guarateed something in the first 20 rows. I havent attented a Red Rocks show in ages-have things changed much since the old days when Stevie played there in the 80's and early 90's

I hope she does all reserved to be honest. I am too "old" to sit out there for GA, however for the younger fans that want to be close, it could be good! I am seeing Van Morrison there next Fri and we got reserved, 47th row but his GA started at row 50? It usually will say right on the line where you get tix what seats are GA and what are not. I suggest printing out a seating map so you can see it before you order and mark what seats are GA and reserved so you know what you are looking for.

Also - thanks everyone for the congrats - very sweet of you!!

I'm going to be so very hateful if all you bitches out west get to see her with Vanessa and we kids over here on the east coast are forced to watch the Don show  If that's true, I reallllly hope someone bootlegs it. A duet with the two of them would be out of this world. Not to mention, she's an amazing classical pianist who puts on one hell of a show.

So..we have Sheryl around for a bunch of TISL shows, then FM where LB took over, then she is touring with Henley and Don certainly implied it was a favor. He bails after ten dates so Vanessa Carlton is added as a special guest for some of her twenty odd solo shows. Anyone else besides me see a pattern here?

I am pretty jealous of those of you who are seeing her at Red Rocks...I always wanted to see her perform there. If I hadn't just done Vegas, I would consider it. Instead, I am stuck with the Don show in Philly...in TWO days! Oh and Stevie solo in AC...maybe VC will be there too Riss.

Hi Marissa - yes, this is my first and thank you!

I am not familar with Vanessa Carlton but I read that on KBCO site too. I'd personally rather have Henley but if she's good sounds like it will be a good show. Of course Lindsey would be the ultimate...(a girl can dream right...)

Yeah Red Rocks will be cool. I missed the last time she came here when I was in college in Boulder (what was I thinking???) but I heard it was great - that's the one on video right?

One more hour until tickets....

Ok I got my tix - the best available were rows 7-12 so I know I have something in that area and am happy (don't have to walk up too many stairs!). Wonder where 1-6 went? I hope someone got those! I got on right at 10 and those weren't even available. HOB never tells you your actual seat, row until you get your tix but I've had pretty good luck with them a few times and good seats so crossing fingers.

James, others -did you get your seats?

I got mine! :wavey: I am thrilled. I too got something in rows 7-12. I wonder what they'll be? I really hope I'm not stretched far off to one side of the stage, thought I've never had closer than row 40-ish to any concert ever, so I guess I cannot complain too much. Rows 1-6 are probably reserved for special guests, press, Denver city officials, etc... It's kind of weird that those were not available. I wouldn't be suprised if those rows were also held over for box offices sales the day of the event.

See you there!

Yeah 1-6 may go on sale on Monday. However the good thing about Red Rocks is the seats we got are great too - it slopes UP and it's not like your typical concert - even if you were in front you can't touch the stage at all - it's very far way. When I saw Fleetwood Mac last summer in Denver they played Fiddler's Green and I had 2nd row (also got thru HOB prsale and didn't know where my seats were...) and we were able to get up front against the stage (remember James?? :) ) but at Red Rocks our seats - 7-12 are GREAT seats. I also hope we are not too far left/right. I hope all of us are close to each other though - that will be fun!

Christopher - am with you on the GA - glad it's in the back. I don't have the energy anymore to sit and wait (esp being pregnant) in the heat. Those days are over for me!

The presale is HOB for the person that asked.

Heck ya I remember! Playing Lindseys guitar TWICE was the ultimate! Watching you guys on the otherside was a high too! I was cool being so close to everyone we knew. I pulled rows 7-12 as well. Keep listening to KBCO for free tickets.

The Fox station here in Denver, they're a bunch of assholes as far as I'm concerned. They sent me an email advertising her show, with a picture of her and a huge Blimpie's sub in her mouth. Ticked me off. You win free tixs to the show, and "enough Bennigans's food to feed themselves and 9 of their friends; or one Stevie Nicks."

You know, she was large at one time, but she got off her but and did something about it, which is much more than I can say for those f******g red necks Lewis and Floorwax. What loosers.

It's gonna be a good night! Can't wait to meet up again! 7th is OK, but it isn't the front that I was spoiled with last year, but those cost a pretty penny.

It looks like I might not be seeing Stevie at all this summer (besides Vegas last month), but if she does something really crazy like bust out Sisters of the Moon or something I may not be able to resist, and Red Rocks would probably be my favorite place to to see her. But alas, no car.

I was at the stage (front row) in 1990 for the Timespace tour. I was was face to face with Stevie, we hugged and talked for a moment. I was right there. I do not know if it is the same now. The last show I saw there was John Fogerty a while back. It was the same way.

I could start telling stories of certain people and their habits and that they live next door to their wives and that they are recovering from certain substances but oh well, I won't.

Red Rocks was rennovated and slightly redesigned a couple of years ago. There is now a gap of about 10 feet between row one, and the railing that sits in front of the stage. You can see pics of it here:

Hey James!
I am also (big news) 4 mos pregnant so hope my fat A*** can get up all those stairs in that heat! Lauren

Lauren,
If you tell security of your condition they should let you park at the top and walk down. Of course, you'll have to walk up at the end of the show.

The stage is level with the front row. All she does is walk over to the railing.

Yeah I got row 11 and 2 seats. However usually with HOB presales I do really well so was a bit surprised I was that far back for the rows "7-12". For FM last year I did the presale, also 2 seats and got 2nd row center (ended up by the stage though - totally an incredible experience!) and I saw Brian Wilson last Sept in Denver and also did HOB and got 4th row. So I don't know what was with the Stevie tix unless a ton were set aside but it's good to see someone - Christopher- got the 8th row! Yeah!! I am glad my seats are 41,40 so am in center area at least.

James - I hope you get better on Monday!!! Let me know!

Would Denver be the closest airport to Red Rocks? The venue looks like it is far removed from everything... are there hotels in reasonable distance?

Good questions and let me add a couple of my own: Is there a train or something that would take you nearby if it isn't close to the airport or would one definitely have to rent a car? Again assuming it isn't too close to denver, are there other things to to do in the area or is it just red rocks?

Denver International Airport is the closest. You'd probably want to rent a car cause DIA is about 60 min from Morrison (just asked my husband)- I am about 30 min from Morrison and the airport is closer to me (but still far out). There is a lot to do in Denver, not really Morrison (you can hike and bike but that's about it) but you could also go to the Mountains if it's a trip and see Vail for example (about 90 min from Denver), Boulder is about 30 min from Morrison and is beautiful and I know Stevie loves Boulder- that fountain in "Has Anyone Ever Written" is there - not sure where though - anyone know? Hotels would be good in downtown Denver, or even Boulder but again about a 20-30 min drive. Feel free to email me - laurenbly@earthlink.net for any info - am happy to help!

DIA is the closest airport.
The closest decent hotels to Red Rocks would be the Marriot at 1-70 and Denver West Parkway or the Sheraton on Union Blvd.
The venue is just outside the city of Lakewood and there really is nothing around it.
The hogback has some cool dinosaur footprints on it.

FRONT ROW! Pulled two tickets on Monday Morning! I knew I loved that song for a reason! They are actually second row, as the very front row is reserved for handicapped seating only. YEA! I sold my other four 12th row tickets on eBay for face value within two days of listing, thinking I wasn't going to go afterall, but then curiosity got the best of me on Monday morning.

I CAN'T WAIT!

I WON, I won! lol. Well ok, so I would have taken anything upon getting to Denver. Pretty sad when you have your airfare from California to Denver Colorado and no frikin concert ticket, but on a whim, I bid on a front row ticket on Ebay, and won. For $100 no less! Fair I'd say. Now, no worries, and decently middle of the row. Not WAY to the left, not WAY to the right. Egad, 8 days away????? Oh man. I am getting very excited! We'll get to the venue early afternoon, and pretty much just chill out there I guess. Tiff goes back early that following morning, but I don't leave Denver until like 3:30p.m, so have some time to tool around, if I am not asleep in my rental car. LOL And w/ a 2 hour layover in Vegas on the way back home (how perfect is that?!) it'll just be a nostalgic trip all around!!!!!

I thought the fountain was at Chattaqua park in Boulder too but I can't remember. I know I saw it years ago (in the 80s) but no clue where. I went to school in Boulder so swear it was in Boulder and not outside of it. If it was in Estes park then Stevie was incorrect in saying Boulder, however she also said it was a 2 hour drive from Denver and Boulder is only about 30-40 min so maybe she had her towns wrong? I've been to Estes park too so maybe saw it there but don't think so.

Anyway - I will be at the show on the 20th at Red Rocks! I am in the 11th row, seats 40 and 41 - I'll be with my husband (the one that will look bored - oh no, not another FM/Stevie experience he's being dragged to - LOL). I am almost 6 mos pregnant so anyone that wants to come say hi please do - I probably won't be walking around much - we went to Van Morrison last month and with Red Rocks and the stairs it was hard on me to walk around so doubt I'll go down and up the stairs so please come say hi!! I am already getting my husband to go get me the teddy bear :-)

Look forward to meeting anyone and saying hi!
Lauren

Obviously from the time the photographer took the fountain's picture a lot has changed. Looks like a housing development went up, the tree/setting is gone. "Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you got till it's gone?"

It got to me too. Joe Walsh is amazing. The picture of his young family is a heart breaker.

I don't know if the current sign is the original sign or not. I would expect that it's probably been changed since the time Stevie would have seen it all those years ago.

Thanks for the info & link about the park. I wanted to try to find it since we're arriving early and have the day free up until the show.
