I'm rather surprised and very sorry to see that "Dust" will probably be going this round. "Dust" is so beautifully understated and elegaic, both musically and lyrically, that I have always thought it one of the best songs in Fleetwood Mac's extensive catalog. I love the fact that Danny Kirwan found a superb poem by Rupert Brooke that he appreciated/related to and then managed to adapt it into an original, moving piece of art. Danny's gentle yet masculine voice quietly melds with his lilting, melancholy guitar work to create an effect that is lulling despite the darkness of the poem/lyric...It's simply stunning, and always makes me feel contemplative in a way few things--most literature, music, conversation, art, included--do upon listening. He manages to capture "the white flame within us" on record flawlessly while making it sound almost effortless.
In other words the song is a boring piece of garbage on the same level as "Woman Of A Thousand Years" and "Sands Of Time".




















J/k. There's not a weak link on this album (except for TOAGD), I just like "Dust" a bit less than the others that are left. So I'm trying to vote off "Dust" again.

I'll go with Dust even though I think Bare Trees is a weaker song. I'm just trying to protect Sentimental Lady(one of my favorites on the album).
