I love this part of the song:

You want me to be there
You'll take me somewhere
You'll show me your lifeline
Reveal your other side
I would say but the words won't come
I just come undone
All I want to do is be closer to you

I sure hope this song ends up on the "Very Best of Stevie Nicks" if that album ever sees the light of day. I think it is great. In fact, Street Angel is one of my favorites.

Yeah, that's my favorite part of that song too. I really love Maybe Love. I know it isn't all that popular with people, but it's one of the Stevie songs that always makes me feel good when I hear it. In fact, I think I'll listen to it now! It's been a while!

I love the bridge, too. The first verse is also really cool. I can relate to every word of this song so it's special to me. And it's just a fun and uplifting listen.

Looks like most of us agree with you Christopher! That is also my favorite part of the song. It's my favorite from the Street Angel CD, and I was glad she performed it on that tour. Like many of her songs, it really deserved to be a big hit,

I guess it's the lyrics and the country feel to it. Mom likes Stevie's twangish side....ATGF....That's Alright....BN material.

Funny, I made a Stevie compilation CD for my mom and put Rose Garden on there. We were listening to it one day, when my dad was driving and he said, "As far as I'm concerned this is her worst song ever."

I just had to laugh because my dad knows nothing about any of Stevie's songs. He kept replaying "Silver Springs" (old version) over and over again though until my mom and I were sick of it.

I also love 'Maybe Love...'! When the single came out, I though for sure she had a top 20 hit for the Adult Contemporary Chart. What a shame it didn't get the airplay it deserved. This was also really great as a demo too, Lori's vocals on it sounded so pretty on the demo especially on the "I just come undone..." part.

I have to join this thread because I have been listening to "Maybe Love" non stop recently. I even made a "year mix" CD of a bunch of the best singles you would hear on the radio back in 1994, and of course "Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind" is right in the middle, track #11, right inbetween "Mary Jane's Last Dance" by Tom Petty and "Gin And Juice" by Snoop Dogg. It's actually refreshing to hear a simple and pretty song like that these days, and probably was back then, too. Also, the bridge is my favorite part too. I wish it was longer, actually.

I also LOVE the original version that was produced by Glyn Johns. It's a little better because its faster and the vocal is a little more convincing.

Another reason why I love this song so much is because it's one of those songs you play while driving on a sunny day with the windows down (and BLARING it, especially if you have subwoofers!!!) :p Plus, Stevie doesn't have many songs like that in her catalog.

For some reason I always go back to the songs that Sandy Stewart wrote for and co-wrote with Stevie all the time. They make a great team!

The alternate version is far superior to the one that is on Street Angel, IMO.

that's how I feel too...just a fun song, nothing too heavy or intense - and really great lyrics and fun music to sing along to

You can find it on almost all the Street Angel demo boots like the "Abbey Road Sessions". Or there is a crystal clear version that is supposed to be the "Master Mix". It's basically the same as the released version but it has better vocals, it's a little faster, and yes, it contains the brialliant guitar solo (love that, too).

I"m pretty sure this song made the adult contemporary top ten or at least top 20 in 94', can someone verify that?, I remember in Denver they played it on the radio that summer pretty frequently. I love this song too!! It would have been a massive hit if Stevie had recorded it in her heyday. It just has that sunny happy feeling (which is a rarity in Stevies catalog) and was a perfect summer single.

I really like MLWCYM too. It is the one non Stevie penned track on the album that I enjoy. I have a hard time listening to SA...if always reminds me of that time when Stevie was pretty much over, or so I thought. The songs on the album just jump out at me as so obviously not written by Stevie...containing words like "amphetamines", "laundromat", etc, etc. Yikes.

(Blue Denim, Rose Garden and Maybe Love are excellent though)

I really like this song, and even though Stevie didn't write it, I think it was written with Stevie in mind.
