About the tour(s)...

Other than the obvious (Don not being there), could someone fill me in on what the major differences would be between the tours? Like, If i go to a Stevie/Don show and then a few weeks later go to her solo show, am I seeing the same show?

(I'll see her if she's just drinking coffee. However, it's my dear hubby that's asking, lol. So this will be the difference of him going with me, or me dragging one of my girlfriends to go!)

Thanks for any help!

Tell him there will be no Don Henley songs and more Stevie songs. Nah, that's TOO obvious. Most folks figure Stevie's solo show will be close, if not exact, to her Vegas set list. No one's going to know for sure unless Taku, or someone else in the band leaks it, or until the first show happens. No one has said whether or not Lori Nicks will be coming. Jessica should have the summer off, maybe making it possible that Lori will be coming along.

I don't think there will be much difference between the Don/Stevie shows vs. just the Stevie shows.. they are sharing the stage, so it should be the same show... but if it's different, then thats even better!

A bit more- here is the Vegas set list, typed out by Spy note:

Bootylicious (intro music from Destiny's Child)
Dreams (new dance remix)
Enchanted
Stop Draggin' My Heart Around
Outside the Rain
Dreams
Rhiannon (w/ piano intro)
Sorcerer
Stand Back
Landslide
Gold Dust Woman
If Anyone Falls
Fall From Grace
How Still My Love
Drum Solo
Edge of Seventeen
I Need to Know (encore)
Beauty and the Beast (encore)

BUT- the Vegas show was limited in terms of time. Maybe there will be a couple more songs.

Don and Stevie's sets will each be about an hour - then Stevie will add more songs to her set for the solo shows.

On a sidenote: he avoided answering the question about FM "throwing in the towel."

PLUS, if they end up singing Leather and Lace and Highwayman together, we can add those in to that. I guess that means they'd be in her set then  Leather and Lace I could take or leave but Highwayman would be cool to hear.

Don will do his normals, too

I'm sure after her set, they will do one or two duets. I'd like to have a Don song as a duet, too.

"Don't know the exact length of time but somewhere around (or a little over) an hour. The setlists are still in flux. She will perform a few songs with Henley's band, and Henley will perform a few songs with the Stevie band in addition their individual sets. Once Stevie carries onto her solo dates, her show will obviously be much longer like the Vegas shows.

That no one is clear on the future of FM or that it's being discussed and they've yet to reach a conclusion? That's my take on it. I'd like to see them at the very least, tour once more before they pack it in for good.

I'm guessing "Bootylicious" will open things up, then right into "Enchanted"... sorry folks, but i don't think the "Dreams Remix" will make it into this set.. I think that was just a Vegas thing only....

Also, due to the fact that this tour is being penned "The Gold Dust Tour", there is a good likelyhood that she'll open up with "Gold Dust Woman".. or perhaps a "Gold Dust Intro"??? we shall see....

Yeah, well, "Bootylicious" is a good way to get the show going and get people on their feet... I don't see it as this big deterent from the show itself... If Stevie used it in Vegas as her opener and on all of her TISL shows from 4 years ago, i'm gonna probably guess it's gonna become a standard on all of her current and future shows as well.. i don't mind it all actually.. in fact i love it!

It's sad that it takes a pre recorded song to get ppl on their feet at a CONCERT.

She doesn't even sing or play on the track. Why put it RIGHT before she comes on stage? I understand if it's in the pre-set songs that they play, but they make it a big deal. Ugh. I hate that song. Bootylicious is the stupidest word I have ever heard of.

Not me, I like that song. But I would probably like the oscar meyer bologna song if it had that riff sampled for it.
But, actually, In vegas, It didn't really play seconds before she came onstage, did it? And, it's not like, if they didn't play that song she would come out sooner. She would still come out at the same time, there just wouldn't be any song before.

You can't go wrong with a rift out of EOS, and I love how it affirms Stevie's influence on mainstream music as well as cross cultural appreciation. Because it contains the "Edge" guitar riff that is so well known... it's not as if Stevie uses "Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears as her show starter or anything..

Bootylicious is the stupidest word I have ever heard of.I thought that little layered acapella track of "Trouble In Shangri-La" was the official start of the show, and "Bootylicious" was just part of the pre-show music.

I know there was music played in the arena before FM came out when I saw them in 1990, and I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that it was the same music at every venue (I forget which band it was now -- something makes me want to say it was Ziggy Marley's group).
So I just always thought it was typical for a band to have pre-selected pre-show music.

What is Bootylicious and what does the word mean?"Bootylicious" is a Destiny's Child song that sampled the riff from "Edge Of Seventeen."

As to what the word means... well, I guess we'd have to ask Beyoncé Knowles (or whoever the hell wrote it).
But basically it's just something nonsensical, like "bling-bling" and other über-hip catch-phrases like that. You know, the ones that become so pervasive in pop-culture, that even your grandmother starts using them... and then they thankfully die off (of course, only to be replaced by something equally ridiculous -- since apparently the two-hundred thousand and some-odd words in the dictionary aren't cutting it).

It's a mixing of the words "booty" and "delicious." It's means someones bun is lip smacking good. And if something is "too bootylicious" for someone, It means that it's just so, so magnificent that the other person will not even be able to handle it's majesty.

Hmmm.... I loved Beauty and the Beast but it was so intense, I wonder if she would even want to do that for the whole tour? I think it would almost spoil it if she did it for the whole tour just because it was so powerful, you know? B&theB was my favorite song in Vegas though, so I wouldn't mind if she did it on the Gold Dust Tour... it would just make it less special and not as "real" for me. It is kind of a strange thing.

If I had my way though she would be doing Beautiful Child on this tour.... I love that song so much and I miss is like crazy from the SYW tour!!!

I wonder what Stevie thought of the "Bootilycious" lyrics when she filmed her video snippet? She had to be thinking something about the jelly lines!

I doubt we will see BaTB..seemed very Vegasy and without Lori? no way. I am sooo not a fan of Jana, sorry Riss, but that girl and her loud annoying voice ruined Landslide and FFG. I doubt we will see BaTB..seemed very Vegasy and without Lori? no way. I am sooo not a fan of Jana, sorry Riss, but that girl and her loud annoying voice ruined Landslide and FFG. God Forbid she had to sing louder to compensate for Lori on BaTB..it would completely ruin it for me. We will most likely get the normal closer, Haewafy. (which I am not a fan of...snnoooooozze)

In a way, i really want her to do Beauty And The Beast on this tour, and in a way i don't... maybe she should just keep it a Vegas thing.. it would make it very special if she did... but it was such a great performance, it would be a shame for her fans who didn't get to see her do it Live not be able to experience that... my guess is, though, she will keep it in the set..

ICAM... it would almost ruin the magic of those Vegas B&theB performances if she does it night after night this summer. However, if she can keep up the intensity and passion of the performance I hope she does the song for this tour. I just don't want to see it become a "tired" setlist staple that she can sing with her hands tied behind her back.

I felt the same way about Silver Springs. It should have stayed with The Dance, but they decided to haul it back out and completely ruin the magic that it once had. I pray she doesn't do the same with Beautiful Child.

yeah, cuz when that happens, her mind wanders off and she has a tendancy to forget words at times...

we definately don't want any BATB screw ups... that would be devastating :distress:

This song's a stranger to me
The lyrics, they cloud my memory
