Travis and Tracye - if you read this in time, listen to KGSR at noon. I requested something from the Tusk album. And I told Bryan to plug the Houston show too....

I'm in the mood for TISL, so when I go home for lunch, I'll grab it for the car.

And I think I'll watch Storytellers tonight.

Other than sharing my voice on Stevie songs on The Ledge, (which is something I never would've done a few months ago, even  ), I think I'm going to pop in TISL. The first five tracks never get old for me and they are the songs that made me fall in love with her.

I have happy birthday stevie poster (pic from vegas show) on the door to my office and have listened to Street Angel and Rock A Little all the way through so far.

I'm listening to all her solo albums in order. Currently on The Wild Heart. Tonight I'll probably watch Red Rocks.

I'm pretty sure my BF hates me at this point.

Was just thinking of you because you said Everyday was the reason you got into Stevie and I was just listening. I realized that I actually do like this song, just not the chorus. Now I have to pause this and go listen to you cuz I haven't had a chance to yet. :xoxo:

I always celebrate at work. This year I brought in two boxes of Noah's Bagels with 3 kinds of smears, granola and yogurt with strawberries, blueberries and bananas, homemade Belgium waffles, and my boom box to hear all of Stevie's classics. My co-workers have acutally come to anticipate Stevie's birthday each year because of all the free food

That's cute. I told my coworker today is Stevie's birthday and she said, "I know I heard it on the news this morning and damn, I thought I'd beat you to it."

Does this mean I have an excuse to eat cake today? Mmmm cake... There are no calories on Stevie's birthday! This is good since I just chowed down a chicken parm calzone for lunch and it was gooooooooood.

Usually I'm with my friend Rain, cause it is memorial day weekend, and I am wishing her a happy birthday. Also I'm making jokes to her like "When are we picking up Stevie's cake?" and I wake up and say "happy birthday Stevie!" to Rain. Last year I was also congratulating her on getting her Masters. This year, I'm congratulating her on getting into USC's PhD program. We are laughing also because the letter said "Welcome to the Trojan family!"
Otherwise I just play Stevie songs, wish her a happy birthday in my head, and tell random people it is her birthday. My radio station just said "we've got a lady who's celebrating a birthday today, and we're gonna play a few from her, cause we hope she's having a good one and we really like her a lot!"

I love Maria McKee, too. That first Lone Justice release is one of my all time favorites...

Our classic rock station just played "Rhiannon" from the LIVE cd and Tom (the DJ) said, "This lady is as legendary as they come" and he also mentioned that she was "on the road most of the summer"!!! How cool is that? :woohoo:

OMG it is too funny you mentioned that. I'm totally having flashbacks of when I lived in Dallas and in 8th grade practically every day after school I would stop at TCBY and have white chocolate mocha with chocolate chips. I haven't thought about that in years! Again, you have great taste :) I don't think they have too many TCBY's in Cali. I haven't seen one for a very long time.

Well, I have been listening to Stevie all day, but that's nothing new. Right now it's Stand Back from Live in Boston becuase I love this version.

My friend came over last night and we made t-shirts for her birthday! ROTFL, okay no one laugh... On the front it says Happy Birthday, Stevie Nicks! (I wanted it to just say Stevie, becuase I never say her last name, but Krystle said no one will know who she is without the last name... okay, fine.) And on the back up by the neck it says May 26th, 1948. Down lower it says "No one knows how I feel, what I say, unless you read between my lines." and than under it it says ~Stand Back~ Then we cut up the sides of the shirt and tied it, so it looks all fringy (I guess you'd have to see). It's really neat.

I walked into Algebra and my FM and Stevie loving teacher was writing the date on the board. she was like OMG! Today's the 26th! Stevie's birthday! I was like "yeah, didn't you see my shirt?!" So she thought it was really cool and then we talked about what concerts we were going to.

My friend has the same teacher 4th hour, so I walked her to the class and my teacher said she wanted a picture of us in our cool shirts. LOL

I was sitting in 7th hour and this girl Lauren asked me what my shirt said. So I showed her and she's like "Oh, that's cute." Another girl spoke her two cents and goes "Does he go to our school?" All I did was blink and stare at her and people around us starting laughing histerically. I was like "Do you know who Fleetwood Mac is?" and she goes "Yeah, of course. They sing that one song, Black Velvet." I was like ummm no. And she turned back around. None of my teacher, besides my first hour knew who Stevie was. I swear, they live under a rock!

I hope you liked all my stories LOL

I took Stevie Nicks CD to school today and played them for my students. Then afterwards, we had an end of the year/Stevie Birthday Party with water gun fights, pizza, and ice cream. Tonight, I'm going to watch some Stevie videos: Red Rocks, I Can't Wait, etc. :woohoo:

Sidenote: One of my fourth grade students is a huge Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks fan. The legacy continues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, I try. I always try to do something fun at the end of the year that is special for each class. The last day is tomorrow, and it is a half of a day. Therefore, we had to do it today (to have enough time), and so I decided to make it a Stevie Birthday combo. I told them all about it being her birthday, before we listened to the CDs. The kids really liked it. Of course, they would probably say they did, because they know I'm such a big fan. Of course, like I said in my previous post, I have a big student fan in my room as well, so it made it even more special.

I don't have anything special planned. I do have a few chocolate cupcakes, however. I could have some of those and listen to the 5/10/2005 show. ;) I also bought some new DVD copying software that I am going to install. I hope that it solves my problem and I can burn all DVDs. I guess that I will see later.

I had a few co-workers come up to me today and tell me that they heard that it was Stevie's birthday today. What ticked me off was that I listen to an AM talk radio station in the morning and they named about 6 people that I have never heard of today. No mention of Stevie's birthday but these other people all were mentioned as having a birthday today. That ticks me off but then they would have only said mean things about her anyway.

Everyday is Stevie Day for me! :woohoo:

But I have a dumb idea anyway because I get sappy when it comes to her. At 9pmET (I apologize to the overseas people as I don't know your time zones) for those of you in your cars, honk your horns. For those already at home, walk out to your car and honk your horns  And everybody yell:

Happy Birthday, Stevie! We Love You!

I? Am a dweeb.

On edit: Got rid of the time zones. They were all screwed up.

I ended up lighting some Nag ChampRA, and a vanilla L'Occitane candle (they smell great together!), poured a glass of Merlot and I watched Storytellers, which had Stevie's Behind the Music immediately following on the same tape. I had to watch that too. I bought myself a present after work - my bookshelf stereo in my bedroom died so I bought a Sony boom box to replace it. First CD I put in? Buckingham Nicks (the vinyl transfer to CD boot, natch).

Question: In Storytellers, at the end of Stand Back, I think it was, what's the last line? It sounds like she says, "love your life," or "love your light." Anyone know what I'm talking about?

There's a caramel scent they make now too, it's divine! And the melon is yummy as well - once I burn them down, I keep the tins open all over the house, like air fresheners! At work, I have 2 on my desk that I don't light, but I keep them around for aromatherapy when I get stressed, I inhale 'em - it really works! I have a vanilla and another one that's a blend of ylang ylang and jasmine, or something, it's deelish!

(A little late posting this.)

I had to work today, so I had to adjust my Stevie's Birthday ritual a bit.
I played my 10(+) hour Stevie mp3 disc last night as I slept (instead of listening to it throughout the day), and, since I wake up often through the night anyway, it was cool to be able to wake up to random Stevie songs.

Then I watched some of her video singles as I got ready for work. :D

I always tease my friends and family that Stevie's birthday should be declared a national holiday... and that it should be called "Nicksmas."
