Okay, yeah, sorry to start another Nicks-Henley tour thread...

But seriously, why do they get TWO shows?? When some of us had a show for THREE days and then lost it? No offense if you're from there, but what gives? They could easily pop up to, say, Toronto on that second night, could they not?

I'm just saying...

(But still seriously wondering why Wantagh merits two shows)

simple... it's a huge venue.. one of the biggest in New York and the whole entire tri-state area... It's literally on the water, so people just love to see a show there, especially when the weather is nice... plus, it is the ONLY outdoor venue of it's kind in the area, besides PNC in Holmdel which is only about half the size of Jones Beach... I'm guessing there are two shows in Wantagh because they believe the fanbase in the New York area is that big that they need two shows to satisfy everyone's urge to see them.... they are, in fact, mistaken.... they will have a very hard time selling out just one show there since the capacity for Jones Beach Theatre is 14,000

We've heard that a DVD is going to be filmed on this tour. They usually like to have multiple nights at one venue so they have a wide variety of shots to choose from so that would explain why 2 nights at Jones Beach.

Thanks again for the update. It is odd that they would choose Jones Beach to perform at twice (because honestly, it is absolutely massive) but seeing as it is in close proximity to NYC, it would make sense to get a camera crew out there and film--either that or Borgata

Would that actual be possible? Given that they have completely different record companies I don't see how a DVD release combining the two would be likely.

I would be seriously disappointed if she decided to record a Jones Beach show for DVD rather than a Vegas show... The Vegas shows are obviously going to have the better venue for recording purposes... Jones Beach is "nice", but the stage is rather ugly-looking and small... wouldn't make for a good DVD, imo.. :distress:

Yeah, thanks for that info. That would make sense, then. I was surprised they thought they'd sell it out two nights in a row. I guess I'm glad to hear it's being filmed.

Since they are no longer coming to Toronto. :(

I don't think so..Stevie nearly sold the place out by herself in 2001..Stevie sold 13,777 tix there in 01. I think they can atleast sell 10000 tix to each of these shows....

Had she played there and had it not been a tour with Don, I probably would have considered coming up there. I love Toronto. Sorry your show was cancelled :/

Yes, but that was four years ago. Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles have been touring and hitting the same markets for ages now.

Jones Beach has seen Stevie's face now in 3 out of the last 4 years... This year will make it 4 out of the last 5..

If I found out they were filming in Jones Beach, I would head up there for that show. Only this time I would stay up there instead of driving back at night. I question whether this outdoor venue would really work for filming. There is little to no room on the stage and I do not see how it could be filmed easily. I think the Borgata shows are cancelled. The tickets for those two shows were scheduled to go onsale last week...so I think those two are off now. If anyone hears anything else about filming in JB, let us know! I would rather see a show that is being filmed, Stevie is always more animated, outgoing and talkative. JB is only a two hour drive so that would be the show I hit, that one and Philly. Let us know please! (thank you for all the infor you have posted..if it wasn't for you two gals..we would not know much would we?)

As for JB..only one show is onsale right now. I tend to think if the venue does not sell well, the second night could be cancelled. I have been watching seats for opening night on TM...imho..they are not selling like hotcakes. I have been pulling up seats in the sections just to the right or left of the stage..the really good side sections that are next to the front floor seats and have been getting third, fourth and fifth row all week. These are seats that would be considered prime if you are not on the floor. Section 113 and 114 are damn good seats if you do not want to stand at the stage and you can still get third row? methinks this tour is gonna tank.
