View Full Version : Ledgies - margetritaville - reservations.

Okaydokee.... Just got off the phone with jennifer from guest services...

1. Won't make reservations or set aside an area unless we all get dinner at a minimum of $36.00 a person.

2. At 10:30 live music starts, so it kinda goes into nightclub mode.

3. First come first served for seating without dinner.

4. Stops serving food at 12:00 am (midnight)

She was nice, but based on this, I think we should look into another venue that wants to work with us. (Come on, its a no-nothing Tuesday night...They could have set aside an area..... ) $36.00 seems a bit steep to me. (Nice discount for 50 people group....yeah right).

Sooo........Any other suggestions? I will keep looking and see what I can find. Any suggestions? Ideas? Comments?

I think an idea might be to meet beforehand for picture, then storm the place ALL AT ONCE and ask for a table for 50. That would work. LOL We could take over one of the patio sections.

$36 - no friggin way. I'm up for chancing it by walking right on in - I highly doubt that Margaritaville will be that crowded on a Tuesday (for God's sake!) What are they gonna do, tell us we're giving them too much business? I really want to go there, but if you guys want to try elsewhere:

What about Nine Fine Irishmen at NYNY? I know they're open late, but no clue as far as reservations & such go. I believe the Brew Pub at Monte Carlo is open late to. Neither is terribley far.

The Monte Carlo Pub and Brewery is open until 3am. They do brick oven pizzas, gourmet wraps, salads, and sandwiches. Nine Fine Irishmen is a little more expensive ($15-$30) and the restaurant is only open until 10 while the bar is open until 3am.

I'm thinking we just go ahead and chance Margaritaville. If we get there too late and can't find more options, there's a 24 hour cafe in The Flamingo overlooking the penguins and whatnot. I don't know if they'd be able to handle all of us or not.

Even on a Tuesday there are ALWAYS people in Vegas up and eating, so I'm not sure, given how big a group we might have, that chancing mararitaville makes sense. Why not try this Monte Carlo Pub if they're open late?

seeker007nmss

Okay... I see a pattern here. Looks like 9 irishmen is not-a-go from a price standpoint. I think what they are doing is "renting" us the spaces. (SO they won't lose the business form us holding it for many hours.) I just spoke to Maureen and while she was very helpful, I am not going to sign a contract for thousands of dollars to fund the get together. (Sorry my piggybank is kinda empty from buying tickets).

I kinda understand, if we reserve 50 spaces and then noone shows up , they are out cash they could have been getting from other dinners. This looks like just a stormin norman kinda night. Pick a place and attack. (Shouldn't be a big deal on a Tuesday night at 11:00.)

The irish pub looks nice though.

That sounds good, the Monte Carlo. So does storming Margaritaville.

Let's storm Margaritaville Tuesday and crash Monte Carlo's brew pub on Wednesday!

Screw the Irishmen - sounds really nice, but I'm seriously broke. seriously.

I think another issue we have to consider is location. Monte Carlo would be a bit of a walk and if people get caught up talking to people after the show, we'll all be coming in at different times and they might not be able to serve us after a certain amount of time either. I couldn't find when they stop serving food but if it's open until 3am, last call is probably a bit before that (for alcohol). We'll be at Caesar's which is directly across the street from The Flamingo. It won't take much time at all to get from Caesar's to The Flamingo which is why I think initially, it seemed to be the best bet. To me, as far as distance after a concert is concerned, it looks like something at Caesars, The Flamingo, Paris, Bally's, or The Bellagio is the best bet (aren't they all connected by a walkway?). I'd like to go to Margaritaville but basically, out of convenience with it being across the street.

Looks good - except! Have you noticed lots of breweries don't have mixed drinks, just beer? I looked behind the bar in the pic, but I can't tell if those are liquor bottles or just glasses.... :D

Okay I think I have a battleplan.

Tuesday - All show up around sametime and ask for 2nd Balconey seating. At Margiritaville at the flamingo. Or third balcony - if we can get seats near each other. I think there will be a bit of table hoping each night.

Wednesday - All show up around the same time and try to get seated near each other at Monte Carlo Brewery.

Thursday - on -play by ear. :D

I have to agree, if we meet after the show for photos. Then meet outside and all walk over to Margeritaville together.....better chance of getting closer seating. Except for the concert, I can't see a big problem on a Tuesday at 11:00. They stop serving at 12:00 (foodwise). So I think it should work out.

Another option to throw out there........The shadow bar in (Yes I am going to butcher this, just for our grammer people... :xoxo: ) SeeSars..Ceasars...Seahair.... They have appetisers also. Just throwing it out there. But I am still leaning towards Margeritaville as our underage ledgies can get in too!

If the concert starts at 8:00..... Over by 10:00..... Pics and what not till 10:45 ish.....Then mosey on over to Marg in the Flam (Stevie monk lingo). That should work. :)

Sorry I couldn't get a space for us, but I gave it a shot.

Due to an amendment to the constitution, I am not allowed to sing in any of the 50 States or any US territories. The United Nations Rule 138.06 Section 3 Paragraph 4 states: "Seeker cannot sing in any country but North Korea and the Country of Yeman." This section was also added to the Geneva Convention.... What time does karaoke go until at Imperial?
Do we really need to take a pic at Paris/Caesar's/wherever -maybe we could just take a group pic at Margaritaville to save time?

Meet at Margaritaville around 10:30, take pics & eat, head to Imp for karo? What are your thoughts?

There's no need to panic because there is always room service. It may seem a bit decadent but it is there for an emergency! I think everyone's worrying for nothing, we'll go to Margaritaville, get seated, and eat. That's my prediction.

Who knows this area well enough to pick a place outside Ceasars where we will meet to trounce over to The Flamingo?

The only problem I can think of is if we say "let's meet at the so&so statue/fountain in front of Caesars." There are, like 2000 statues & fountains at Caesars.

Let's just go with the flow. Do we want to do the fountain in front of Paris, or just go to Margaritaville & take it from there?

Well, I just mentioned outside the venue because I thought that was what folks wanted, to go over together. But, I think you're right, it will be simpler to just meet at Margaritaville. Do they have a large bar area? I'm pretty sure I'm going to be wearing my red dress. It has a chiffon overlay and I'll be wearing red sandals as well. That should be fairly easy to spot!

We will have more than enough time. I can see us easily getting to Marg at the Flam by 10:30 EASY. I will scout out a place to meet at Ceas and post a picture so noone will be lost. I mentioned the fountain at Paris cause I thought it would make a cool backdrop. But, I am not a photographer, so I will look at a few places and let others decide. (Now to find my digital camera)

I didn't see any statues in the pictures but there are penguins walking around though AND flamingos. They have a little wildlife habitat that's apparently open 24 hours. It'd be cute to see

I like the idea of meeting up at Margaritaville and then taking the photos there. We could always walk out front AFTER we eat and drink if there is not a suitable place inside to take them. I know a few people who want to talkt to friends after the show that are not Ledgies and will not be coming with us. So...if they are chitchatting for twenty minutes or so...they can just mosey on over to the bar/restaurant and meet up with everyone. We can eat, drink and then perhaps walk outside and take a photo someplace? Maybe near the flamingos or penguins..I am sure there would be a cute spot at a big hotel.

Pattie..stop mentioning Denny's girl! This is VEGAS..you can go to Denny's any ole time...think bigger and better than home fries! kidding.

Brit...you had no problem in Atlanta last year and you were a year younger. The only potential problem I see would be in a casino hotel..the rules for bars and restaurants on gambling floors are much much much stricter. We were carded several times at the Borgata..just walking out of the bar, across the casino floor to get outside. Inside the lounge..you could not even drink coke if you were underage due to the laws surrounding casinos. Considering you are almost 21, I am sure Steph or someone will help you out if you have a problem. I like beer myself...I am glad Paula will be around...I certainly do not want to be the only low class chick chugging from a bottle. Hell, I will ask for a glass.

No, I don't want to go to Denny's. But I figured that at least it would be open.

That is true Kelly, but really its not that big of a deal. I came to see Stevie not spend my money on booze, like I normally do at home. :distress: So I think I'll be just fine and if I get really desperate I'll make Steph run over to the liquor store for me.

We will work it out as it gets closer. The reason the casinos are so strick on the age thing, is that the State of Neveda Gaming Commission has very Strict laws and HIGH fines if the casino serves or allows underagers to drink or gamble. Not only does the Casino get fined, but the cocktail/bartender does also PERSONALLY. It's a HUGE figure for both. Trust me, they wouldn't care if they didn't have to. Sorry. Just the way it is.

You wont see the "Beautiful People" at Margaritaville, but there are great Fun people & its right on the strip & great for hanging out with friends or significant other & just relaxing. They had a good Reggae Band the night we were there. We met a lot of midwesterners (Like Me). Late 20's to early 40's crowd with shorts & sandals on. Not much pretentiousness here, just fun.

Coworkers are like, "MARISSA WILL BE IN VEGAS THIS TIME NEXT WEEK!" It also didn't help that my Enchanted keychain (which has been on my keys since 1998) broke and Stevie fell out. I was pouting all day today and couldn't find where it went. I leave work and I find it laying on the sidewalk. I put La Nicks back in the plastic and taped her up  I'm glad I found it before someone else did--I would not have heard the end of it.

I'm down for spending to eat some amazing food. I could care less at this point. The trip is paid for except the hotel so shelling out $35 or so to eat a really good meal wouldn't bother me (and YES I'LL EAT, KELLY). I definitely want to have breakfast in Paris

I checked the weather again - now it says "a few showers" Mon and Tues, and sunny on Wed!

I was talking to a co-worker today who goes to Vegas regularly and she said that it rarely rains on the strip. The mountains might get some showers but it really does not affect the strip area. If it does shower it does not last very long. That is what she told me. Maybe someone from Vegas can give us a bit more info on the weather out there. ;)

Hi, My name is Michael. You may remember me from such threads as I have finally reach... and Ledgie Contest. I used to be a sad poster, strving ever to reach the 1,000 mark, but then I found a cure. I came across the "seeker method." The Seeker method is a scientific study of how legendary posters such as Amber and Dissention reached that coveted 1,000 mark. It compiles a collection of patented responses perfect for almost any situation. Now I'm well on my way! :D

And I can't wait for VEGAS. So the definite plan is no one is meeting up before the show on Tuesday, but we're all going to margaritaville after the show. Is this correct>

Now you're just teasing me. I'm not sure "nobody" is meeting up before, for instance, I'll be riding with some people from the airport, and also, 2 ledgies said I could stay in their hotel room with them. If I be a good girl, wear my leash, and don't mess on the carpet.
But, no, I don't think there is going to be one mighty ledge collusion. (I wonder if that's the right word?) But yeah, we will try to storm Margaritaville after. I believe there is a few backup plan places, in case they won't take us, but I have forgotten what they are.

amber

turns out that wasn't quite the right word, although it made it a little funnier...
Collusion:A secret agreement between two or more parties for a fraudulent, illegal, or deceitful purpose.

I think we will meet BEFORE Margaritville for a photo, and then head over. Still figuring out where. (See the method works! :D )

Well, I think we decided it would be a bit of a nightmare logistically to try to take the photo before Margaritaville because a) we didn't know where to meet b) some people would take a bit of time to get to us c) we're going to want food and drinks! :D We could take the photo when we have a good crowd at Margaritas, assuming we will of course.

Yeah, they probably won't see thirty people walking up the street to another place....giddily....
heck, I already have like, 5 people's cell phone numbers to keep them apprised. (even though I, myself, don't have a cell phone). If everyone gets someone's number, or gives their number to someone they know, it shouldn't be a huge problem, should it?

Yeah you know Amber maybe we could have like a 'Buddy system". Have each of us that plan to go take a few cell numbers down and we can each have different people to call and check in on.

Everyone can take someone's. Did you see how I don't even have a cell phone? I'll be using Paula's, of course. But sesly. I'll keep on top of mine, and all, but I think there's enough ledgie connections for it to work out. I'm sure everyone who knows someone will tell them where we're going if they don't know. I kinda thought we would all try to congregate in one place outside caesars after the show, and stuff. But, I'm sure it will work out. If there are any ledgies going who are 'singles' and don't have touch with any other ones, they can PM me. I think it will be fine, though. :)

I am old. And us old folks don't have cell phones. (Just don't trust 'um) Nah, just joking. I don't have a cell or I would volunteer to help out. I think if anyone with a cell phone would PM WelshWitchPMD and Amber, you could figure something out. That's right, so far. I think people might wear name labels, but I'm not sure.

I checked out Margaritaville this afternoon, and I think if we all head to the third floor balcony we have a better shot of being around each other. The first and second floors just don't lend themselves to this. Plus they have live music up top. So after the show...head for the third floor!

I've got labels for everyone with your user IDs on them, I took screen captures from the Stevie board. My brother saw them and was like, "What the?" Then he said, "I'd probably do the same thing if Guns n Roses were still a band".

Perhaps I'll try to make up a quick sign today too that I can put on the table so you all will know where we are. OMIGOD THIS IS TOMORROW!!!
