From the Nicksfix:
We talked to Lori and she said she has been in rehearsals with Stevie for the past week. Look for her to be singing on a few songs with Stevie and the band at the four Las Vegas shows. Lori said she is excited to singing again and looks forward to seeing everyone at the shows.

...but she warns everyone...if you approach her in the casino and ask her what it's like to be Stevie's sister in law for the 500th time, she'll pop a cap in your ass.

this was my big gamble, assuming that lori will sing and that stevie will pull out the stevie&lori songs. Nightbird being my fav-o-rite... what other songs are we thinking the other ms. nicks will sing?

Now I have to add another thing to my list of things to bring...tissue :(
Now everything is starting to set in and the antic-i-pation is getting growing.

P.S. This lady I work with was at Red Rocks during the filmed concert.
She said it was the best concert she had ever seen.

That's such a lame question anyway! Anyone who has a chance to talk with Lori and asks that deserves to be, ah.."popped."

Me, too. :(
As the shows near me get cancelled, and Vegas gets better and better... I wish Stevie and Sharon and Lori would take their show on the road and do the July dates. I think they'd sell MORE tickets than Don and Stevie would have.

It looks like Elton John is in residence at Caesars for all of October except the last week, so if Stevie does anything it will have to be that last week. And it just so happens that I will be in Vegas for the last week of October anyway for work. Yippee for me!

"Nightbird" would be the adventurous, exciting choice- however, my head is swimming a little bit with the thought of an awesome rendition of "Beauty and the Beast" as well.
Shit, do both!

If she wallows somewere below middle C instead of soaring perhaps two F's above middle C for the the "You'll seeeee" and/or does a stocatto like chant in lieu of elongating the vowel a la the record and the SG and SNL performances, I will have a mad cloud like this  above my head :wavey: I wish and wish she will be adventerous. I mean it is not like she has to hit those notes for three months in the Summer humidity of a shed.
Come darlin - let see you SOAR - I know you can - I've seen you do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so buzzed/freeeeked out that there is evidence that she's actually gonna do something with these performances- I just bought tickets for Saturday night!!!! :blob2: :blob2: :blob2:
Any possibility that the John Kinney update and the weekly picture on the Nicksfix is any indication that "Nightbird" will actually happen??? Hope-a-hope-a-hope-a-hope!
If she does it right, the part where I'm gonna burst out bawling is the-

Ok, I'm totally ready to get some flak here, but what's the big deal about Lori Nicks? I never liked her singing, and other than being Jessica Nicks' mom, there is absolutely no significance to me.
She never came off as a warm person in the interview clips I saw, and I found her stage presence overbearing, just like her vocals. Especially on the Wild Heart Tour.
I think alot of Stevie's other back up singers were way more talented- Marilyn Martin being one.
Sorry, I just dont get the fuss.

I like Lori but I gotta say, my favorite backsasser is Miss Sharon. She always compliments Stevie vocally and is rarely overwhelming onstage with any of her backing vocals. Lori, in her heyday, could occassionally overwhelm Stevie. That being said, I would love to hear Lori again and Nightbird is one of my all time favorite songs and is very personal to me so I hope Lori is there to do it. Lori could also add to BatB should they attempt that one. I really just do not want any pictures of Mick floating up on the video screen if they do this song. Please, No Stevie.

Marilyn M. was perhaps the best vocal performer of La Nicks' back up singers. Her voice is that of a star and she has in fact been a star. So, I take nothing from her on that or any level.
However, I always thought Lori and La Nicks had a great vibe togther and they looked like they belonged up there at the same time. Plus, they were sexy as Hell when they sang Nightbird on SNL and SG. I love her voice as well and never found it to be over powering. But, to each their own

I think it's a big deal to a lot of us because there's so much history there. When Stevie first went solo, Lori & Sharon were there right from the start. And it stayed that way for years. Until that damn kid came (kidding!)
I think it's exciting because it's been such a long time since we saw Lori, Sharon & Stevie live. And the possibility of them doing songs you don't hear live anymore.

All I know is that if she does Beauty and the Beast, she has got to have a small orchestra...how amazing would that be? After all, this is Vegas...why not go all out?
I can see it now...Stevie will start into Nightbird and Lori will walk onstage  I'm wondering if they'll do Leather and Lace (sans Don, thanks) as they did on In Concert. It's one of my favorite performances of that song.

You mean Lori will walk on stage I assume?
Anyway, ITA. I want to see Nightbird and B&tB done for sure. L&L with the girls IS the best, but I only want her to do it if it replaces a frequently done tune. I mean, go ahead & put it in instead of SDMHA, but don't choose it over Sable on Blond or something else we've never (or rarely) heard.

I think Lori's voice was always a nice counterpoint to Stevie's. It added a ton of texture to the mix. Lori's voice is my favorite part of the song "TISL". On top of that, I have always thought she was incredibly beautiful - especially on the Wild Heart tour. To boot, she is a kind, warm, genuine person. Anyone who has met her can attest to that. I think she is the bomb.
