Excellent idea... thanks for doing this. Wow... 24 people, that's pretty cool.

Arriving early Monday May 9
Attending Tuesday May 10 show
Departing late Wednesday May 11

I assume somebody is going to tell us all EXACTLY where and when we should meet?

Since the pin idea doesn't seem to be too popular, perhaps someone will make and take a small sign to hold up if we're meeting outdoors or reserve a large table/room under a particular name if we're meeting somewhere to eat first. Just trying to help.

Let us know and we'll be there.

Laura

If nobody wants to wear a pin or whatever, then somebody needs to take the initiative to say EXACTLY where and when we should all meet. Then we'll all congregate in that place. That should hopefully take some of the "STING" out of having to wear a pin and avoid any confusion in trying to find each other.

Laura

Yup, I agree. Going to be hard to get everyone organized as it is.

funny, the last time i was at Margaritaville was in key west with matt (who is also coming to vegas)... the difference is that the last time i left margaritaville i ended up clinging to a public payphone with my to-go cup in hand, randomly calling friends... maybe that won't happen this time  ?

I would wear a button during the day in my Tshirt/shorts mode. I'm sure we'll find eachother somehow - we always do. One tip is to note peoplewalking around in Stevie or Mac T's. In my experience, most of the general public in Vegas does not wear these items. :) Or, I can hang out with Amber & the big sign she'll be carrying around.

BTW, Bikerchic & I will be there Tues afternoon until Thursday late afternoon. Attending T&W shows. :blob1:

i wasn't going to say anything, but i am such a grammar cow...
Speaking of grammar/spelling/pronunciation cows (moi)- the "definately" was buggin', too.

But far, far, worse than that for this student of history is the butchering of the word Caesar. Not Ceasar, not Ceaser, not Cesear, not Cesar (although, that is perfectly acceptable and accurate for the romance language proper name pronounced "Say-sar" ..... it's Caesar.

Yes, I'm a picky, bitchy, cranky, sorehead, old, snobby twat, who points out typos and make big stinks about the decline of Western Civilization, yadda, yadda, yadda.

See y'all in Vegas!! :wavey:

Oh, P.S.: My partner Geoffrey and I will be staying in the Caesar's Palace Tower and will be arriving on Friday morning and leaving on Sunday afternoon. I have tickets for Friday night, however, if the set list is a killer I, like Justin, will be buying tickets for Saturday night.

also, to be completely correct, it's pronounced with a hard C. that's where the german 'kaiser' came from. and i do think that Julius Kaesar sounds a bit more formidable. and did you know that the V in latin was pronounced like a W? weni widi wicci sounds really lame...

Oh, the last time we had dinner she was a riot! Did she tell you that story about Lindsey? I nearly died. And her Mick impersonation is right on! Too funny. I think they were getting annoyed with us in the restaurant, but we didn't care. Got into kinda of a giggle fit. :D This picture was right before she busted out laughing, how she kept a straight face is beyond me.

lol! Love the photo.

I'm going to the Tuesday show, I'll probably arrive Tuesday afternoon and leave Thursday. I don't have it all nailed down yet. Not sure where I'm staying either, probably the Bourbon Street... it's cheap and close to the show. The hotels I really want are either sold out or too expensive. :(

BTW, For all you Vegas Ledgies....all day Wednesday I'll be at the pool in The Flamingo (Apparently its not enough that Im from Miami and all! ).... we should plan a sit by the pool lunch or something on Wed. during the day. What does everyone think? I could bring people in with my room key for those staying at other hotels...

Part of me says I should see the sights.
Part of me says, screw that I've been there twice before.
Part of me says I should show my friends cool stuff on the Strip.
Part of me says, be lazy & drink by the pool all day long instead.

I'm also staying at the Pink (get it? hahaha.) The pool is supposed to be the best in Vegas, even better than most of the larger hotels.

I'm not sure what to do either. Three of my friends from Miami are flying in and I know that they want to take a ride to the Hoover Dam. I'd love to go and see that. Thing is, I'll be with Kelly and two other people aside from them and I think they kind of just want to hang out on the strip. I'm torn as to what to do with the little bit of time I have. I certainly intend to spend a bit of time by the pool though

F*ck Hoover damn. It's a really enormous concrete thing holding water back. Big whoop. :p

I went right after 9/11, so I'm a little bitter. It was closed to tours at the time, so we got to drive over it on our tourbus, take pics & leave. Wow. If they are doing tours & you have the time, go for it. If not, I wouldn't bother.

As a side note - when we went to the dam, we were on our way to Laughlin, NV. Now THAT place is a riot! 50 cent roulette, $1.99 buffet, everything's really tacky - classic! I laughed out loud more than once for various reasons while we were there.

If you want to go to see the Dam..you should. I know there is so much to see around the strip...I will prolly do that. I want to go to the shops at Caesars and check those out but that won't take much time. I am up for any type of sight seeing. As long as we have plenty of time to get ready for the show, I am game. I figure we can do the pool lounging one morning and fit some other stuff in during the other morning and both afternoons. I do want to do breakfast at the Paris though. :]

I'm sorry, just a warning (I think Seeker will agree with me) that even window shopping will take a few hours in there. Ditto for the canal shops at Venetian too. Unless you're planning on speed walking through with blinders on, that is.

My thoughts exactly. It's gonna take 3x as long as you think it's gonna take. So whatever you're doing in Vegas, think about how long it might take, then multiply that by 3 and that is how long it really takes. If you're only there for a few days I would suggest relaxing and seeing what is there on the strip. Anything more than that is an awful lot to try to cram in. Then again, I've already been out there twice so I'm down with the pool scene. :D

I soo, sooo hope we can be served poolside Margaritas...and snacks...*sigh* that would just be heaven.
Oh, and Alex? No naked for me. It's my gift to everyone who will be there....

Me in a bathing suit will be bad enough. Naked - my pastey whiteness might blind you all! :sorry:

Just bought a self-tanner foam today, so if I turn orange, keep your comments to yourselves, please. :p

I'm leaning more & more toward hanging at the pool on Wed. Sorry, Theresa, hope you didn't want to see anything else in Vegas! :wavey:

The only way I can pre-tan would be fake & bake. Not a fan.
I don't get very good color when I go.
And I don't have time.

How weird, I'm wearing my bikini top right now...uh...I usually do, at home, but I was hot after rollerblading home from work. Anyway, my point is, I'm very jealous that you got to wear it to work, you run a construction company, and that you live in Florida. That is all.

i've still got mine on too, that's mainly because i'm lazy. don't you live in california, isn't that kind of beachy? i guess it depends on where though. i hate living here. i hate it. but the beach is nice and it's great being the boss, i just kind of leave work on really nice days.

I'm italian too, and native american. I tan within seconds, though my true color barely has an olive tint. Not that I've seen it, except under my bathing suit line. Anyway, I love to swim, so I'll swim. I'm hoping someone will play with some kind of ball with me, in or near the water, too, but that may be asking for too much....anyway, yeah, I'm not much of a "sit by the pool-er". I love to swim. :) What do I love even more? drinking and swimming!!

Well, I live in Oakland, which is by san francisco, which is about 72 f***ing degrees all summer. Oh, and foggy, too, lots of the time. It drives me nuts, as I moved from Chico, which is baking hot and swim worthy May to October. Sesly, I hate the weather here in the summer. I have to drive places to swim and be merry. I'm suprised, in your pics you look kind of "tinted". You know, a little darkish? I guess it was just your hair and eyes. Anyway, you all can just call me "lizard", I don't mind... :D I'm a quarter Irish/Scottish, and a bit French, but it's black Irish, I think...anyway...the important thing is, to never leave the house without sunscreen on your face, but to tan the shit out of your body for summer. It's all about the lighting and makeup  In the summer, i'll be darker but in the winter? Forget it. I'm albino-esque. I've never fake-baked before so this will be a first. Okay, here's what happened. I had just gotten back from Chico, and so I dropped into this bar I used to work at, called blakes, right by berkeley campus. There was this band playing, and they were good. I liked it. So, afterwords, I spotted one of the band members at the bar.(the bassist, the only kind you should date, ok, drummers are good too). Anyway, I didn't want to be all gushy/stupid (I hate that) but I did enjoy their work, so, very cool, I told the guy something like "hey, great job, I really enjoyed that) and he was all, "thanks, etc". then a few minutes later, he comes up to me, and says something about the way I acted when I was talking to him, all cool. We start talking, blah blah....I kind of start to love him (he was half chinese, so beautiful, with these amazing GREEN hypnotic eyes, and just a beautiful face, and very poised. Oh, did I mention he was a Scorpio?) So, then he asks for my number, and we joke around, blah. I didn't know his age. Then he calls me, and I say "well, this weekend I'm going to Half Moon Bay, my friend rented a house there for her engagement party. and he's like "I'll go, gimme directions!" i was stunned at his audacity in actually wanting to hang out with me and all my friends in a strange place for a first date. Anyway, so, he actually came! Then, while he was there, he was utterly charming and poised, got along with everyone, and when Rain's parents (Rain is my engaged friend) were asking him why he came there, he said "I came to hang out with the most beautiful girl I've ever seen" (but not in a cheesy way, in an honest conversational way). And everyone kept asking his age, but he wouldn't tell. Anyway, we just got along really great. He took me camping for my birthday, and on his dad's boat for 4th of July the next weekend after my birthday, and he had a recording studio in his house, and he was just incredibly smart, poised, funny, comfortable in all social situations, etc. He was actually way more mature than me. He actually came to my friend's wedding with me, and was helpful, nice, and got along with everyone!
okay, sorry, I never get tired of telling that story. Oh, and when he said he loved me? he cried a little. It sounds cheesy, but it wasn't, he wasn't sappy or anything, just really, really, great.
kay, I'm done. :D  Oh, so, at the end, i didn't really find out his age until I already liked him. the end of summer, he went to college in Washington, to major in International Relations.

so, astrologer amber, what is the deal with dating someone who shares your birthday? what if you know someone who shares your exact birthday/birthyear all that. what's in the stars on that one?

um...it depends on your chart. For some signs it works better than others. My mom had the same thing as you, once, but he was married (they both had Sag b-days of Nov. 27th.). Anyways...uh...It's hard to say without doing someone's chart. For Sag, it seems like an ok idea. So, basically, it's hard to figure out except on an individual basis. :sorry: If you had exact people, with exact birthdays, I could do something more indepth, but otherwise, it's pretty difficult. I guess, as you could imagine, there would be pitfalls such as "you're too much alike". I would venture to say, however, that for some signs, say, Sag, Pisces, Virgo, maybe Libra, maybe capricorn, it's a better idea than for some other signs? Oh, Scorp/Scorp sometimes works out...

Libra and Sag is a good combination, in theory. If you give me the birth time, date, and place, i can concoct an exact chart. But in the meantime, here's a few more shallow snippets.
"Libra is stimulated by Sagittarius's eagerness for adventure, and Sagittarius is drawn to Libra's affectionate charm. Both are highly romantic, though this quality is more dominant in Libra. Libra will want to settle down before flighty Sagittarius (editors note - libra? settle down? ha!), but they can work that out. Charming, clever Libra knows how to appeal to Sagittarius's intellectual side and easily keeps Sagittarius intrigued. This pairing should develop into a fun filled, free, delightful relationship."
here's another:
"Sagittarius is charmed by Libra's artistic, elegant, easygoing nature, and Libra is fascinated by Sagittarius's lust for adventure. Libra is more romantic than Sagittarius; otherwise the sexual harmony is delightful. Libra casts a tolerant eye on Sagittarius's frolicking, and may even slow down Sagittarius's pace, for Libra knows how to trun on sensual charm. Libra loves home and luxury, and Sagittarius prefers the outdoor life. But Librans are artists at working out such problems."
Translation? You guys are swingers!!!  God bless you if you're dating a Libra...

yeah, so when i was 18 i worked in a factory for the summer. i was the official eye candy. that was my job. i wore really tight jeans and i unbuttoned my hott factory shirt a little farther than most. it was me and a bunch of 30YO+ married guys. loved it. so i fell in LOVE with this guy, ahhh tim, and had no idea how old he was. i guessed him at 25-28. i was dev.a.stated to find out that he was exactly twice as old as i was. literally, we shared a birthday (MFEO!) and he turned 36 when i turned 18. heartbroken. he was just beautiful. ahh, i guess HE was the perv in that situation. i was the HO though  !

Wasn't this movie called The Factory Flirt? or was it Assemblty Line Aspirations? Or was it one of those books with Fabio drawn on the front?
  :p

Oh, so, at the end, i didn't really find out his age until I already liked him. the end of summer, he went to college in Washington, to major in International Relations.

You give love a BAD name, AMber.

I am beside myself. Haven't seen that hot little monkey in awhile. Found out the record is pushed to fall, so they may not tour until late this year. I needed my fix. I just hope they do at least one song from the new record, which is awesome, and so not out yet.

I haven't secured tickets for either Friday or Saturday. Right now it's coming up in the single letters still for those shows. This is seriously freaking me out! I gotta go to two shows but I only wanna go if I have better seats than I have now. Rachel and I might go to both shows if we stumble onto gold! But holy shit! How much money can a person spend? So, we'll see...

They last like 4 or 5 days. It stains your skin basically so it comes off as your skin sloughs off its outer layer.

Yes. I am golden. :)

I put it on Tues & I'm still as tan as I was the first day. I picked the light/medium & that's plenty dark for moi. I figure I'll apply another coat on Mon or Tues, then the Sun or Mon before we leave.

And no worries - I highly doubt my Eastern European stained skin will look anywhere near as good as your natural Italian/Native American bronze skin, Amber!

Well we finally booked our flight last night :blob1: And it is going to be one hell of a trip.
We leave Jacksonville at 6:35 am connect in Dallas and land in Vegas around 10:07 am. Then coming back we don't leave Vegas till 11:30 pm, connect in Miami and we have about a 3 hour layover then arrive in Jacksonville at 11:44 am.
Is anyone one elses flight like this?? This is what I get for taking a forgetful non-money managable pot smoker. Why me?

I am lucky because on both of my flights both going to Vegas and returning to Providence I just stay on the same plane the whole trip. It does make one stop but I don't need to change planes. Ii makes a stop in Kansas City.

I would have saved about $100 if I booked a flight with layovers but it isn't worth it to me. I do understand doing it if you have a very restrictive budget though. It's just that I'm only going for a few days so to waste too much time traveling would drive me crazy. I hope everything goes smoothly for you Twisted! I did pick the red eye return flight to save some $$ though. Oh yeah, and Amber, my flight went up like $40 before I booked it too, I was waiting to get paid and in the meantime it went up in price. They usually do, booking early saves $$.

My trip there should be pretty interesting too (all this to save a couple hundred bucks). I'm in Canada and I fly from Wpg to Denver, change planes to San Fransico, change again to fly to Vegas... I leave at about 9am Thursday and don't arrive till around 5pm... so should be about 8 hours of flying on what normally is a few hours flight. On the way back it's just through Denver, but I don't think I change planes, so it's not as bad.... I don't really care, don't mind the flying, just as long as I get there. I just didn't want to break the bank for a two day trip to some place where I really had no desire to go to except for this show.

God bless Southwest Airlines & their direct flights to & from Buffalo & Vegas.

BTW, everyone double check their hotel reservations. We booked through Travelocity way back & Amber found out the price went down by $50 a night since then  ! We ended up having to pay a $25 cancellation fee, but we're still saving $75. God bless Amber for being cheap like me. :xoxo:
