Here's the story:

It was but a brief dream for Stevie Nicks and Don Henley fans here: The Nicks and Henley July 4 Summerfest concert announced earlier this week for Marcus Amphitheater has already been canceled.

The entire second leg of the rock duo's tour was scrapped due to "scheduling conflicts," Summerfest Entertainment Director Bob Babisch said today. Babisch said another act for that date would be announced.

Tickets for the Henley/Nicks show were due to go on sale Saturday.

if ya ask me.

I am however surprised they waited til now to cancel the show though if there was "Scheduling conflicts"

I think initially they saw dollar signs and then realized that due to the oversaturation of the markets being played (between FM and The Eagles they've hit each place several times in the past few years), they realized it wouldn't have been the money maker they thought it out to be. IMO, this stems much deeper than scheduling conflicts. If the tour is scrapped, it'll probably be due to more than scheduling and Don's desire to hop back into an Eagles venture.

of course i'd like to think that it's because of my personal reaction to the ticket prices ;) ... it just sucks because this info was leaked, got so many people excited, and then it's *poof* gone and most of the people would have never ever known about it. it sucks being in the know sometimes...

If it was due to poor ticket sales, wouldnt they need to have sold some first?

And today the Nicksfix just announced the VIP packages for this tour? Thanks for keeping us up to date official website.

How does some reporter in Milwaukee know the entire 2nd leg of the tour has been canceled and we dont?????? Where do they get their info?

This really saddens me. I was really looking forward to seeing Stevie for the first time this summer. I'm expecting New Orleans to be cancelled any time. :distress::distress:

Two of the presales are still going on, the 1st one being Philly - I hope that one doesn't get cancelled now too!

I can't pull it up anymore? What link are you using? Last night I could get up the Philly and Holmdel presales , now it is giving me a "tickets are not onsale" message.

When they say the second leg is going to be scrapped, does that mean all of July or what?? Any official word on Atlantic city?

The entire second leg of the rock duo's tour was scrapped due to "scheduling conflicts," Summerfest Entertainment Director Bob Babisch said today.

Second leg? Weren't there only like 12 or so dates? Of course, if I didn't frequent the boards I wouldn't even have known there was a first leg, or indeed any plans for a tour at all. This whole venture was an organizational trainwreck. Tickets going onsale without an itinerary or so much as an official announcement from the artists' camps is silly. I'm in the minority of Stevie fans that dig Don Henley so I have to admit I was looking forward to hitting one or two shows after I saw that the prices (with the exception of the Borgata show) weren't too absurd, but oh well.

now i can stop saving for the summer tour... and start paying for vegas. i was actually kind of maybe hoping for a little time off after SYW so i could refill the bank account. sometimes i'd like to be in that group of fans who knew nothing of a summer tour...

I'm guessing the first leg will be all the June dates, including Atlantic City... perhaps Stevie will do the July dates on her own?? maybe this whole thing just isn't meant to be

It took me long enough to ACTUALLY MAKE MYSELF be excited about this tour...because in the beginning I thought it was a stupid idea. Now, in the last week or so I finally have started to be ok with the idea, and started to like it...and good ole Don pulls this...I'm sorry Henley fans, this smells all of something Don has done...Stevie doesnt cancel tours without a second thought about it..It obviously was not a priority for him in the first place

It was probably her idea.. he went along with it.. and now it's not convenient for him to follow through with it.. the question is, how is SHE going to handle all this??

Well before I get too mad, I will wait and see if the entire tour is canceled. If it is, I hope Stevie will at least do some shows for a month or so...because I've already started saving money, prepping myself, etc etc..

All I'm saying is by Don's comments in that interview, "I would just cancel that tour" like it was no big deal or thing, seemed like it was not even a priority. I would also venture to say this tour was neither of their ideas, more likely something management presented them with

I'm sure the Henley fans are blaming Stevie, and we're blaming Don  :shrug:I might be totally wrong, but I'm thinking, How is there any indication that Stevie is responsible, since it was Don who made those comments? Wouldn't it be reaching to blame her?

Yea, Don's comments are pretty rude. I mean he couldnt be more blase about the idea of cancelling, if he tried. I do think it is possible that June could still happen but I am not holding my breath or anything. I think there is NO way Stevie is touring alone in July. I have said before that Stevie has not mentioned this tour, even in passing , so apparently it has been a trainwreck as far as organization goes from the beginning. I feel sorry for her because I think it is Don who would back out and leave Stevie in a jam.

It was a bad idea from the start. I do like Don's music but the whole idea just did not interest me that much. I think it is silly just to keep the June dates. Just cancel the whole tour already.

Apparently, one of them would sing and then the other would come on stage and sing. Back and forth with their songs. Snoozefest 05'. I'll probably wake up tomorrow and the whole tour will have tanked.

Know what? I think it was neither Stevie's nor Don's idea. This tour stinks of corporate power - Clear Channel's, to be exact. They had to cook up ways to make money - Stevie and Don are just one "paired up" acts that are being sent out on the road this summer. I think both were probably trying to come up with an out. Don just found one first. Each is a strong artist with a strong following. They didn't need to share a bill. I hope Stevie DOES keep her July dates (especially Toronto! sorry - couldn't resist) - and put on a kickass show to boot (er, no pun intended).
