"Well you're a front liner...
You put it all on the line
And you're a gambler...
You turn lucky every time

Ooh, you're consistent...
Hey, and that's good!!
And you're persistent...
Well I am overcome

Well you're not like anyone else
You're just an instant flash of light
That shines through the night like a lighthouse....

Well you're a victim...
Phantom of the opera!!!!
And you've been everywhere...
And you live in dark shadows
You do what you want to...
There's no Beauty and the Beast here
No... no..... no!!!
There's no Beauty and the Beast here!!!"

If she does this in Vegas I'll plotz!!!

kidding, right?! Me and Diss always joke about this song. Although, truth be told, as far as SA goes, it's one of the ok ones. At least it's fast and has a beat.

Stevie sure is fabulously weird and unpredictable, isn't she? <3. *as i listen to the lyric "rock and roll, ballerina, where else will she go?"

You know, waaaayyyy back in 1993 when I bought Street Angel, I actually liked this song...... kinda.

Now.... HELLO!!! Fahgetabouttittt... OY!!! The "light that shines through night like a lighthouse" is the part that, for some unknown reason, bugs me more than the "hey, that's good", "phantom of the opera", or the "no, no, no B&B" stuff. Although that last one is in contention for the Worst Stevie Lyric Award.

One of the worst, but the staring at the stairs line is probably my worst one. Good christ, that one makes me want to insert a douche into my ears to clean them out.

The first time I got Street Angel, I think I sat there with my mouth open until Destiny came on and then had to turn it off for fear of getting violent towards my CD player. And, mind you, I was only, like, 15 at the time and even then I knew shit when it hit my ears.

What can I say? I *adore* the music for "Love Changes" and also the way she sings "It was not better for me" with bitterness just dripping from her voice. I also love "That don't mend the sorrow...or reinvent the pleasure."

Also, though I don't think these are brilliant lyrics or anything, they really apply to a relationship I was in at the time that I first heard the song--

"I wish I could figure a way around this
She says...like a sad song
I don't understand the way that I feel
I am terrified of being wrong
Well, I am not happy
And I am not crazy
Are you listening, do you hear
Everything happens for a reason
Stay clear"

So, it's personal for me. You know how that is. Sometimes we love stuff that's not all that great just because we have a personal connection to it.

That is 100% what she says at the 4:01 mark. It's pretty clear. Before that though, starting at 3:56 she is singing something in the background, beneath the "love, love" backing vocals. That I can't make at all. So you could both be right.

I was just listening to the A Day in the Garden version of this and I cried. When she sings-

"Yes, I've got all these things, all these things but a small, gold band
On my finger..... on my left hand"

Her vocal was so true, sad and emotional.
Not my fav. - but has its moments and is a scorcher musically
Unlike "Listen to the Rain" (which was playing in my head this morning when I woke up- thank you very much Miss Amber and Miss Joshua  ), I think she should do this one in Vegas. You are right- it is a scorcher. What a kiss-off song-

"You used to call me wicked-
I used to call you friend"

I'd love to be able to reply to someone with that zinger at the appropriate moment someday.

This is a perfect example of how, if she chooses, Stevie can still rip up a song vocally-

"So, I'm going away for a little while to remember how to feel
And if I find the answer, I promise you
I'll come back and get you!"

How fucking cool is that?!?!?? It perfectly encapsulates Stevie Nicks 1991 to 1996. She kicks ass....

So, we can add "Blue Denim" to the request list for Vegas...

"{ring} {ring} {ring} Hello... Stevie, is that you? Hey, hon, do me a favor- can you please add 'Blue Denim' to my request list for Vegas? Yeah... uh-huh. No, I'm not kidding! You can wear that gorgeous blue coat/cloak thingy you had going on in '94. Uh-huh... Yeah, I know you'll hafta have Margi take it in a little bit, but who cares??? It's like buttah!! Besides, you can update your video screens with pictures of Lindsey from the early 70's with his blue-gray eyes and his soft blue denim. Wouldn't that be fab?? Uh-huh... yeah, I think it'll work. So, we're in agreement then sweetie. Oh, and honey, don't forget we agreed you'd be opening with "Belladonna"! Yes, you did too agree to do that- and don't try to get out of it. I got a call yesterday from Waddy saying that you were trying to knock down the key a bit and I told him, 'no fucking way, you hold you ground, buddy.' Mm-hmmm... yes, he did too call me! Well, don't get too upset sweetie, Vegas is gonna be a killer. You, too. Hugs and kisses to your Silver Girl and say hi to Don for me! Love you, sweetie! Buh-bye! {hangs up phone}"

Maybe she could even throw on a crimped wig for old times sake..

I was just listening to the A Day in the Garden version of this and I cried. When she sings-

"Yes, I've got all these things, all these things but a small, gold band
On my finger..... on my left hand"

Her vocal was so true, sad and emotional.

Does anyone think she'll do ANYTHING from street angel?? i can't imagine she will.. although, "Blue Denim" would seem like the obvious choice if she did..

That would be cool if she did. She said she was concentrating on the video songs, and there is a video for Blue Denim. So, we shall see. Personally, I like the song and think it rocks live.

It totally rocks... but it is sooooo circa 1994.. i don't think she will do it, but you never know.. who ever would have thought she would ever do "beautiful child" or "sara" again??

I would die. I would just die.

If she would still rock the

"Do I love you??? Oh-hoaaaaaaaaaa"

part at the end I would die. I love that song. Even though the lyrics make no sense (which Stevie confirms in the Wild Heart press kit), the melody, the vocal and the music rock the house, baby!

All four of those songs need to be shoved into the set list for sure. "Space Needle" needs a bridge, though.

"The Dealer" ( !!!!!! )

However.....

Oh yeah, and she has to do "My Heart" for Christopher.
I have a feeling that not even Jason has big enough balls to get the nerve up to ask her for that one! I could probably screw up enough courage to ask her for "Goldfish and the Ladybug", but not for something a craptastic as "My Heart"! Oy.

That is awesome. It would have to have the just-gotten-out-of-rehab-for-addiction-to-Klonopin gray roots though!

When she was talking about pulling out all the old costumes, I also imagined her in the diaphanous chiffon getup circa 1976 with the the knit-feather-cap thingy.

Could you imagine it!!  That would get a standing ovation from me, lemme tell ya....

I would only ask for My Heart if she PROMISED to let me personally supervise the rehearsal for pitch control!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course, after about three minutes of that, she would promptly have me thrown out, if not down, on my rear end just outside of the front door of CP with a restraining order trailing behind me

Ok seriously now what songs do we really think she might do? She ain't doing BellaDonna unfortunately and I honestly cannot imagine her completely changing her set, that would throw her right out of her comfort zone so I predict, realistically we are only going to get a handful of different songs. The Highwayman was confirmed. Fall from Grace was confirmed. I think we will get If Anyone Falls cause of the video. I am not thinking ICW or Ttm but we can dream? Blue Denim would be cool as I love it but it does not have a real video, its only a live show. We will get Stand BAck with the video...rhiannon with footage...Dreams with footage...FFG with possible footage from TISL. Could she possibly do Sorcerer with the video? Damn that song really needs Lindsey. I never got used to the Sheryl version and had to replace it on my TISL with the BN version.
What else is realistic ...as we are talking about La Nicks here. Maybe Nightbird with Lori and some old footage of Robin? I know she said videos but I think they will also se footage, like they did on SYW with her Rhiannon drawings and all. Holy crapola I am soo excited. I cannot wait to see what she pulls out of her hat's'. I promised to text message someone the set as it is happening so hopefully she will post as it goes along. The new/old clothes have me excited too.
BTW..Stevie wore the Blue Denim cape jacket thingie on the SYW tour, starting in Jones Beach 04. She was layered up like an eskimo and she wore that for something, maybe BC? It is stunning close up and looks like crushed velvet. She really brought out the clothes that night.

I think she'd do "Talk to Me" before she'd do "If Anyone Falls." Wasn't there a video for "Talk to Me"?

Blue Denim would be cool as I love it but it does not have a real video, its only a live show.

It'll be a cold day in hell before she performs anything from Street Angel, IMO. I certainly can't see using the video for "Blue Denim", but not because it's a live performance...but, because I don't think she'd want to remind people of that period.

I think you're probably right in that you shouldn't expect anything *too* different. The Highwayman, Fall from Grace, and maybe Talk to Me or Nightbird. She also mentioned doing Sisters of the Moon in that radio interview, right? Although, I can't really see her pulling that one back out, but the fact that she mentioned it at all means that there's at least a miniscule possibility.

Oh...and what's with all the "Greta" haters? I like this song.
