:blob1: TD is definitely my favorite from SYW! Anyone know of another remix besides the one from SLN?

I just heard Thrown Down in Wendy's. I was getting some stuff for my kids and insisted that my hubby wait to leave until the song was over. He was so embarrassed...of my singing. It is one the radio quite often, along with SYW and Peacekeeper in the Philly area.
I LOVE it.

I like that song too. I dig the whole sound of it. Although, I liked Mark Needhams original mix of it, the way you hear it on the Destiny Rules DVD.

I love "Thrown Down," too. At first, I only liked the WOS version, but the album version soon grew on me, too. I like the lyrics in that version that aren't in the other one. I love "Faith is a hard thing to hold on to/Something inside you says I don't have to/You're not like other people--you do what you want to." I don't know why I love that part so much but I think it's great! :blob2:

Thrown Down's lyrics cannot be beat. She really could have rocked out this song. It would have been 100 times better if she put more effort into it.

TD is constantly on my playlist, definitely one of my faves from SYW but also just a favorite song period. i like the album version sooo much more than the WOS version, the WOS is a little... whatever, i don't prefer it. the lyrics are fab, the building intro is fab, i just looove it. and my favorite part, well one of my favorite parts, is "... there is nothing left to say... (sharp intake of breath) " if that makes any sense.

Both versions are excellent... the WOS just needs that second verse and it would be complete ;)

"Maybe now he could prove to her that he could be good for her and they should be together" is so beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. And I think we can all relate to these lyrics.

Yes, those lyrics and these: "can you write this for me he said no you write your songs yourself" :p

Thrown Down Video Screenplay
by desertangel aka Laura - 2003
1. Opening Scene - Soft Focus, Camera Pans. Opening strains of the song.
A tall grove of old growth trees
Zoom in on a large gathering of young kids in a park.
They're dressed in bell bottom jeans, tapestry blouses and striped shirts (circa 1965)
2. "He fell for her again, she watched it happen. Every day - day by day." Camera zooms in on two kids.
A girl with long dirty blonde hair, talking to a small group of girls, she's very animated.
Next to the group of girls, is a small group of boys. One boy, with dark wavy hair, stands with his hands in his pockets. He's gazing longingly at the young girl with long dirty blonde hair. He's not listening to the three other boys who are talking excitedly.
She stops and looks over her shoulder to catch his gaze and smiles coyly.
3. "But more important - night by night. She watched it all come into play. He held her hands, she listened to what he had to say." Scene cut.
The young boy and girl are sitting in a glider on the large front porch of a 1950s style home. It is twilight and the porch light casts a romantic glow on the young couple. They're holding hands silently gazing into each others eyes with shy romantic smiles on their lips. He mouths, "I love you."
Scene 4 and 5 constitute the Chorus...
4. "Thrown down... like a barricade" Scene cut.
Fast forward 20 years. The dark wavy haired man wearing blue jeans and a black leather jacket (you know the one) stands on a freeway overpass leaning over the railing, looking down as the cars race by on the road below. There are very tall palm trees in the distant background against a bright blue sky. <Cut and zoom in to face> He has a troubled look on his face. <Cut and zoom in to hand and arm> He lifts his hand to reveal a small crystal ball. He throws the ball over the railing onto the asphalt below. <Cut and zoom in to roadway> The crystal ball hits the pavement and shatters into many big pieces bouncing broken mirror. (a la Little Lies video).
5. "Maybe now he could prove to her, that he could be good for her. And they should be together" Scene cut. Soft focus.
In a lush, misty forest scene zoom in on a young woman with long flowing golden hair, dressed in a long white trailing robe wearing a halo of wild flowers in her hair. She's sitting sideways on an old tree stump surrounded by flowers and tall grass.
The young wavy haired man rides up on a large white horse. He's wearing a Prince Galliant-style outfit riding bare-back. He reaches down to pull the young woman up onto the horse and they ride away into the mist.
6. "You've shaken your faith in me, no. You've shaken my faith in everything else. A decision no on makes," Scene cut.
Back to the large gathering of kids. This time, the young wavy haired boy is now seen with his arm around a girl with long dark hair. The young girl with long dirty blonde hair reaches for the hand of a young jock standing next to her. Each couple walks off in opposite directions. Looking back over their shoulders at each other. Nobody is smiling.
7. "now you're going home" Scene cut.
The young girl walks up the steps of her house, opens the door and walks in.
<scene cut> The young boy walks up the steps of his house, opens the door and walks in.
8. "Faith is a hard thing to hold on to" Scene cut.
She sits on the edge of her bed writing in her journal.
9. "Something inside you says I don't have to" Scene cut.
He sits on the edge of his bed, reaches over to the nightstand and turns her picture face down.
10. "You're not like other people, you do what you want to"
He looks up and gazes out the window.
11. "You're not like other people, you do what you want to" Scene cut.
She looks up and gazes out the window.
12. Thrown Down... repeat of scene 4 and 5.
13. "You say you're sorry... now you should walk away. But it's so overwhelming, you have nothing left to say". Scene cut.
A middle age woman with long golden hair wearing a low cut black dress and a middle age man with wavy dark hair wearing a black leather coat (you know the one) are sitting at a large glass top table sharing a bottle of wine amidst candlelight. A serious discussion has just taken place and now they are gazing painfully into each others eyes. No words are being spoken. Hands are on the table. He gets up slowly, their gazes are fixed on one another, he pushes the chair in slowly, turns.. and walks away, as she watches on, helplessly.
14. "You can sit outside his door and wait. Well, you can dedicate your pain to him." Scene cut.
The young girl is sitting outside on his porch; it's dark and the porch light casts a soft glow. She's holding a worn out kleenex and wiping tears away.
15. "Oh, thrown down..." repeat scene 4 and 5.
16. "About just how much he never really told her... Thrown Down... About how difficult it had been to be without heL" Scene cut.
The middle age man with dark wavy hair is sitting in a large comfortable room with a large picture window, the view is a big city from a hilltop. He's gazing out the window, head in hand, looking forlorn. He glances over to the phone sitting on a side table <zoom in> next to the picture of the young girl.
Zoom out and fade to black.

HOSHIT..that was great! Seriously, great job.
I would have rather they ended up together, making love on the lawn, overlooking the city, as steaks burnt on the grill...but your scene is probably more accurate!! Good job.

Cool... Thanks!! I was worried about how well I was able to translate what I was seeing in my head. When artists talk about writing a song and how it just flows out of them, that's how this happened. Lucky for them it happens more often than it does for me or I'd be a writer. hehe.
