Wow, that is amazing! Didn't he have like 11 kids or something?? The boys especially look very much like jeremy, they just need dark curly wigs. :rolleyes:

Omigosh, that Rhiannon totally kicks a**. That could be a hit (again) if it was released widely (I think). I love the bandwork...great vocal...i'm a little bummed that they left out some of the lyrics, but no biggie.

Yeah, I think she would too..nothing like an updated version for the 00s :thumbsup:
Just imagine how cool it would be, if it was done to good quality and we could actually hear that ladys voice! They ALL look good too, which isn't a bad thing :)

I listened to all seven tracks and I must say: This could be the next big thing! A really original mix of dance rock and hiphop with a definate popfeel. And my god, what a voice!

Rhiannon is pretty cool. Certainly they've caught the ethereal nature of the song..They should release it.

I don't think these were the kids he had w/ Fiona, his 1st wife...(Dicken and ?? don't know the 2nd one's name-- they'd be in their 30's now.)...I believe he remarried...but it's hard to get details about all that.

I'm very disappointed..
They've got a father named Jeremy Spencer, and I would guess he raised them up on Elmore James, Buddy Holly, Elvis, B.B King, Little Richard etc. They're starting a band together, playing this CRAP!

My dad brought me up on the blues (Sonny Boy Williamson, early Stones, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf etc.) and I'm ever faithful to it. And my dad didn't even play in a bluesband in the '60s.. he sang Beatles-tunes together with friends, and he was still into the blues, and I feel it's kind of a gift he gave to me the first time he would let me hear the blues.

I'm sure they would do much better, playing the blues!

Okay, we all have the right to our own opinion but hey, I'm sure Jeremy's proud. This band combines some of the styles I would normally p*ss on. But they do it with a pop-rock feel that makes it different and fascinating. Bluespurists have one problem: tunnelview. Relisten to old mac-albums and live performances. FM has never been a band of bluespurists. Especially when you mention the father of these kids....he was a tongue-in-cheek-parodist, too. Even mainly: he could jump into any genre and adapt it as if he invented it.

No prob if you think JYNXT makes crap. But never think that their dad could be bluespurist. He simply wasn't. And that's why I like him. AND his kids....

Hi Gerald, and thanks!

I know whatcha mean.. and oh yes, it's nice to see that Jeremy's kids are into playing music, instead of playing football, sitting at an office or anthing else.. I'm sure Jeremy is proud of them, and I'm sure they're proud of him as a dad. I've seen the 'Madison Blues' interview DVD with Jeremy, and he seems to be a kind-hearted, warm guy with a wonderful sense of humour :)

Actually, I'm not really a bluespurist. I'm a guitarist myself and three of my biggest influences are Peter Green (of course!), Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton.. and these guys started their career playing the blues, but then they've all gone through various different directions.. Greeny went into free-form experimental jazz/psychedelia, Beck went into funk/soul and jazz/fusion, Clapton went into ballads and commercial pop/rock stuff.. I love those guys, sometimes even more when they don't play the blues! I myself listen as much to jazz, folk music, '60s beat pop, country, fusion, '70s progressive rock, as I listen to the blues.. so, I'm not really a bluespurist.. but, the blues will always be the music that I feel closest to my heart.

talking about hip hop, electronic music, MTV-R'N'B etc. I just can't bear listening to it for one single minute.

Dunno why.

Me neither, normally. But there are certain fields in those genres or at their borders that are actually interesting. But to get that you have to open up for it. That takes time and mindset.

Do I sound like an almost 40 year old audiovisual teacher???

PS: I still can't listen to Clapton and most of The Beatles. There are certain people over here that think that's blasphemy. I'll let them ramble......they still have one thing in common with me.....Mac. :p

.......and cussion, ...as a guitarinfluence you should try one lindsey buckingham for once.....quite a nice player and he could open you up to some new and other musical fields....... ;) ;)

I like the stuff I've heard him play, and you know, I've read that he was influed a lot by Danny Kirwan,
who is/was a brilliant guitarplayer, very 'less is more' :)

I think there's room for all kinds of musical styles, because you cant please everybody. But I would love to see more blues music happening with younger people nowadays (not that I'm an old bluesman, I'm only 20!), because the blues is where its at in terms of the roots. Its still there, but not as prominent I think. Anyway, to each his own as they say. :cool:

Indeed! I have always adored this picture. Danny looks adorable (I think this was right after he joined, he still had the short hair and little boy look to him) and Pete looks pretty dashing as well. Even Mick looks sort of hot, I like the shaggy bangs. And John, as always, is smokin' (both literally and figuratively! LOL) He'd just got married recently, too. Jeremy doesn't strike me as hot at all but he does look like the Pillsbury doughboy. :rolleyes:

They all look so young!! wasn't John the oldest, at 22?!

I clearly remember getting the old album w/ this photo on it from the library when I was just getting into FM, at about 11 or 12. it was a trip to realize how different the band used to look before that sexy young couple joined up w/ them. :) And the music was also different, to say the least.

L- some websites about cults and former family/cog members suggest that these are jeremy and fiona's kids. but they do seem to be way too young.

zero
