"Why" is Christine's best song ever, not just from the pre-Buckingham/Nicks era. I even think it's one of the best songs anyone has ever written. Honorable mention would go to "Spare Me A Little Of Your Love", "The Way I Feel", "Come A Little Bit Closer" & "Prove Your Love".

I agree! Those are two of my all time Christine favorites. Both songs have such musical atmosphere!

I would have to say these as well. Why is magnificent, and forever shall be.

Come A Little Bit Closer has got to be the sweetest, saddest way of saying "I miss the way we used to be" that I have ever heard. :(

It will always be "Why." But let's not let Christine take all the credit. Kudos to Bob Weston for that amazing intro, without which I don't think the song packs nearly as much punch.

My four choices would be:

Spare Me A Little
Remember Me
Believe Me
Why
Come A Little Bit Closer

While I enjoy these pretty evenly, I think "Spare Me A Little" is THE best, in that I don't think it would have improved much with Stevie and Lindsey. I've heard their version live, and it didn't do much for me. Honestly, I think Danny and Bob were the right guys to play on that song.

BTW, anybody notice how many Christine songs end with "me" in the title? For that matter, notice how often the word "me" pops up in her titles in general?

Ever since the first time I heard it, it's been "Why." "Believe Me" deserves an honorable mention, and I think "Prove Your Love" is beautiful as well.
