There's a few lines in Stevie songs that can be construed as a bit "dirty" (teehee :p ) if your mind is in the gutter (which, apparently mine is often enough to notice these! :wavey: ) I have been known to snicker at these lines:

"You say it will be harder in the morning..." Hmmm...morning wood?

"No man came..."
Now THAT's a real shame!

Anyone else notice these, or am I the only pig here? Are there more that I haven't caught yet?

BTW, the line "...when you were good...baby (baby)..you were very good..." in Angel always strikes me as blatantly sexual. I'm glad I'm not the only one that made that dirty thought. I have to snicker when I hear it.

"I'm down on my knees..." Easy shot with that one.

"I haven't burned a candle in a real long time." I have a feeling '94 may have been a dry year.

Here are a few I thought of:

From "Love Is"

"She awakens things
That he said he thought were dead
He says, are you happy now
Oh yes, I am"

From "Frozen Love"

"You may not be as strong as me
And I may not care to teach you
It may be hard to keep up with me"

From "Storms"

"Every day you do not come
Your softness fades away"

From "Nomad"

"I've been with you before
I'll be with you again
I'll come back for more..Yeah"

Really all of "Love Is" could be taken sexually. ;)

"Come over Let me put you on ice"

"Do you understand the word, pleasure"

"You don't even know how to please"

"You guide me back again
And I come when you shine"

"See your sunrise loves to go down" (I know this has been mentioned but it's my favorite. Wishful thinking lol).

"It was one for you...it was three for me
It was very nice...it was everything" (one for him and three for her? Poor guy)

"Every night you do not come"

"I'll take off my cape for you
I'll take down my hair for you
Anything you want me to do...my love" (Anything?)

"She takes...just like a woman...yes she does
She makes love just like a woman...yes she does" (even though she didn't write it)

"Just like the sea...I rock a little" (you mean this whole song isn't about masterbation? ;))

Well of course the first thing that came to mind when I heard this song was hmm well how do I put this - just going down :p I love to hear Stevie say that lol. Then what I also thought was that it doesn't make much sense because when the sun rises it obviously goes up, not down. So it obviously has some hidden meaning that we will probably never know (and I love her for this, that mystery!).

Since the song does allude to cocaine use it could have something to do with being up all night partying and then coming down (from the drugs) when the sun rises in the morning? Just a random guess...

This isn't dirty, but to me it's humorous. In college my twisted roomate Chris liked TOSOTM but also loved to poke fun at Stevie. He decided that 'Doing The Best I Can (Escape From Berlin)' was about her gaining enormous amounts of weight. I guess the "I'm trying hard to change..." part convinced him maybe, I'm not sure. But anyway, remember the part towards the fadeout where she goes "well I paid!...well I paid!..."? He'd repeat that part but he'd do it sort of bent over with his butt pushed out and his arms pointing to both sides of it, and he'd keep saying "I paid...I paid..." Like in other words, the price I paid for my excesses is my big backyard.

In that same demented weight-gain vein, he would pantomine Stevie eating chicken and throwing the bones over her shoulder and licking her fingers during the part of 'Cry Wolf' where she sings "You just had to try those wings..."

As I said, Chris was a sick puppy. Gotta love him.

I know no one probably thinks this way of this one, but I think "I see your shadow against the wall" is very sexy if not prurient. It, to me, is as if she is looking up in bed and the lamp on the nightstand is casting a shadow against the wall of the man on top of her  That may not be what that line is about, but it is what I thought it was about when I first heard it.

As I am sure her sunrise does love to go down, as evidenced by "Awwww couldn't you just let me go down and do my stuff"....

:p

Anyhoo, I think what she really means is her "sunrise" or her happiness, loves to go down, or "go away". That is how I take it anyway. I think she commonly uses light, sun, etc to represent love and/or happiness as in Planets of the Universe. That is how I came to the conclusion that is possibly what the hell this line in GDW means. Who knows though. It is sort of a confusing song.

"I'd like to leave you with something warm" (in your pants perhaps?)

Not sure if this one has been mentioned but heard it today and had to post.
