Maybe I Am Waiting is on this  But of course, that's a cover and not an actual Stevie song so who knows? I have a feeling it's nothing more than what we've already heard that's been leaked. If it is, i'll be surprised. Is the price on that what I think it is?? Let us know what you hear from the seller

Yes! $300.00! That's what I was thinking -- same ole, same ole. But maybe it's demos of the stuff that ended up on SYW? To me this looks like one of those CDs that is sent to the copyright office, and Stevie usually sends those off straight away (after the whole "Sara" fiasco). I can't imagine she'd send a promo around with finished songs before the album is finished.
I'll definitely post the results if I hear. That is IF I hear -- it's been a week now since I sent my inquiry. You'd think someone would be excited to possibly sell a $300 CDR, yes?

So basically the rough copies of demos. OR, you know what...doesn't the person who is mixing get a copy of a few of the songs?? (I still remember Lindsey getting pissed because they were asking for things that he wasn't prepared and shouldn't have to give  ) What if it's something like that? You're definitely right about the promo before the album is finished--unless this went straight to WB to hear but then again, their first listen was at the house with the band
$300...wow...someone is lining their pocket if this is stuff that's already out there. Perhaps he's not that excited because he's been inundated with a ton of questions that all pertain to the same thing...what exactly is on this CD-R? I mean, you can't expect someone to drop $300 without throwing them a bone first, IMO.

I have a feeling that this is new songs that we've heard that are added to the Sony/ATV catalogue, which they then turn around... make up cd's and send out to market her music to be used in tv or in the movies or where ever. Publishing companies put packages together of composers songs from all eras on one disc or a couple...and send them out. Could be wrong, but I think if you go to the sony/atv sight, you'll see a listing of all the songs they've got of hers in their catalogue.

I saw this listed on www.gemm.com and asked the seller. He told me it was Stevie's songs from the SYW album, plus one that was only on the limited edition (Not Make Believe). But they never got back to me with an actual list or track times. Hopefully you have better luck -- please let us know .

That makes sense. I'll look on that site, too -- maybe they reference the disc somewhere... (not holding my breath...)

That's what I was thinking, but why are there only 7 tracks? If it's all the SYW stuff, wouldn't there be 10 tracks? And since "Not Make Believe" was originally written before TISL, it's not really "new", is it?
I know you don't know the answers either -- I'm just typing out loud. This is driving me crazy, thinking there's a disk with 4 or 5 unknown songs just lying around. :]

This might help...

EIL is a music memorabilia dealer, and is notorious for its high prices.

Oh, drat. * Disappointed *
Interestingly, it looks like there's only one of these. The MusicStack link I posted, and the Gemm.com link Girlie posted both are being sold by EIL as well. But, when I clicked both links, I could never get to the actual EIL homepage, just their seller pages at the other sites.
Oh well. False Alarm. Thanks for all the help, everyone! Maybe now I can sleep.
BTW, I love the line at the bottom of the EIL page: "Alternative Names: STEVEY NICKS". Ummm .... NO!

Mmmm...that's our $300 red flag right there  I think we'll have new music soon enough  (at least I certainly hope we will)

an acetate (aka "Proof") It's safe to say the tracks are the same versions on the SYW release, Since an acetate is just a "proof" used to see how the final mixing will physically sound before the final track order of the disc is finalized (Example-If a song just does not sound right on the aceatate, The artist and/or the record label may suggest removing that track before presenting the remaining tracks to released.)
Think of an acetate as just a test disc to see how a track will come across on a stereo system.

So, is "acetate" a general term meaning proof, like everyone calling soda "Coke"?
I've always been confused about that term. Didn't they use it in the vinyl/LP days as well? I always assumed it was a certain type of material, like a specialized vinyl.
Never too old to learn... :D

So that leads me to wonder...does a 2 disc acetate with the original running order exist that was talked about in Destiny Rules? It must.

How I would kill for this!
It was suppose to be 22 tracks, correct? Well, we know of 3 (Not Make Believe, Love Minus Zero/No Limit, I Am Waiting). Does anyone know the 4th?

"Acetate" was the certain material that made up "proofs" back in the "Vinyl days"...But since vinyl isnt as popular a media as it once was, the term "acetate" is inaccurate, But since a compact disc "acetate" serves the same purpose as the vinyl "acetate" the name stayed (I prefer to use "proof".)

man, I would bet an "acetate" of the original 2 disc "Say You Will" (With the original track order) does indeed exists...
It's almost a guarantee actually since SYW had to be shortened to the single disc format from the original double disc format.
That would be a "holy grail" type of find if someone can locate a copy.
