View Full Version : Navigating Big Threads

I have a question - maybe a request...

I've been following the latest "Picture" thread in Chit Chat, and I'm going crazy trying to navigate it, now that it's up to a whopping 90 or so pages.

Is there an easy way to do this? Is there a bookmark feature, or some kind of Go-to-Page-# feature I'm not seeing?

Say, when I open the thread and want to go to page 40 or so, where I left off last time. The only way I can figure to skip thru is to go through them 2 at a time, since all the page numbers aren't listed. But still, that's waiting for 20 irrelevant pages to load (almost 30 if I start from the end) to get to where I want to go...

Muchas Gracias!

in USER CP there are thread options
I use the settings hybrid and 40 posts per page
maybe experi w/options to find what works for you

a skip-to feature would def assist

Thanks - the hybrid helps! Most threads don't get quite so big, so getting around them isn't too difficult. But that one - sheesh. I never stopping clicking-clicking-clicking. :D

Another option, if you recall the last poster you viewed, next time you sign on locate them in Members List and view thier posts...then click on the one you want and it will take you to that page. Quasi-stalking, but with the best of intentions! :p ;)

Also, if you are viewing multiple pages, look at the URL at the top. At the end it will say page=5, page=6, etc. Just change the number to where you left off (if you remember). Maybe that is the fastest way.

Oh, DUH! Why didn't I think of that???

I'm using the Avant Browser now, and it has an auto-hiding top toolbar to give more viewable space. So I never actually see the URLs anymore, unless I purposely make it pop down. But editing the URL will be much faster than clicking through the pages by 2s.

Thanks!

it's only 25 pages for me. And there's the same number of posts. I wonder Why.
