This time it's Lily Girl.
Mathew first posted this on Nancy's board and thought I would pass it along. It is a reel and purchased by a "group of fans" from a source that is not well know. It is not in circulation at this time. Thanks Mathew for the info/lyrics.
Lily Girl
Stevie Nicks
4-15-88, take 2
Originally transcribed by Jan and Jill
One found out all the sudden what was going on
And this made you mad and he said
I'm not gonna do this anymore
Well, I can't live like this
She was a Lily Girl
Not made for this world
Veiled eyes covering nights of tears... nights of tears
Like the blue blue water and the crystal fountains
Why I simply could not believe it
One found out all of a sudden
We don't have so very much in common
You don't have very much to say
So you tell me what it is that you are wanting
Just look at me with those signs and say nothing
We don't talk to each other every day
In fact, sometimes weeks go by
We don't speak and then something in the mail comes
She goes a little bit into shock
Ooh he's back, something's gotta go wrong, I know
She was a Lily Girl
Not made for this world
Veiled eyes covering a night of tears... night of tears
We don't talk to each other every day
In fact, sometimes weeks go by
We don't speak, we don't have very much in common
And we don't have very much to say
Would you just tell me what it is
That you're wanting from me
Just look at me with those eyes
And you say nothing
One found out all of the sudden what was going on
She was a Lily Girl,
Not made for this world
We found out all of the sudden
What was going on
And what made you mad
When you said
We don't have so very much in common anyway
But you don't have anything else to say
We don't talk to each other every day
No, sometimes we don't talk for weeks
Weeks go by
We don't speak
Just everything about this
Is too good to be true
Something's going to go wrong, I know
And you wake up in the middle of the night
It's just a bad dream baby
No, it was a nightmare
And it started a fight
It was a bad dream baby... she was a Lily Girl

We've already got that, Curtis, now we're shooting for "Disenchanted" as a deluxe four-disc boxed set. I think all master reel songs would qualify.

GAWD. It was recorded in '88. I bet Kenny G plays the clarinet and Rupert Hine produced it. :distress:

Hmm, sorry, Stevie, but that's not going to be my new favorite song anytime in the next hundred years.
Of course, being that these are transcribed lyrics, there might be a few errors and perhaps (hopefully) some of the lines aren't quite as atrocious as they seem.
But, beyond that, I'm not finding any redeeming qualities in this one.
I'd venture to say that this song is probably one of the ones Stevie is thinking of, when she says she didn't write anything good during the height of the Klonopin addiction.

Didn't she say in an interview that she had given like 100 songs to Rupert and they went through them and HE had to narrow them down, cause she loved them all so he narrowed it down to 50... down to 20.. and so on... and so on.
So, I wouldn't doubt that there's a lot more where this came from!

That paragraph is also used in a song known as The Tragedy Of One's Own Soul. so I'm thinking this song probably sounds somewhat along those lines. Another OSOTM outtake that most of us didn't know about?

Good eye! :xoxo:
As for other OSOTM outtakes, I hope that Love Don't Fail Me Now surfaces on a master reel. I've always kind of liked that song, it's very torch singer-esque.

OKAY. I have only read the title of this thread, and the first post with the lyrics. After I press "submit reply", I am going to read the rest of this thread to see if this is all just a practical joke.

Lord Have Mercy. It's real.
This ranks right up there with Dial The Number.
I am going to go see if I have any alcohol in the house. I know I have a Xanax. I may need both. If there was a recording circulating, I think it might make Dissention start drinking.
What the hell is in the mailbox ?
1. A thesaurus
2. Mel Bay's Guitar Chords
3. Betty Ford HERSELF...and she is pissed off.

Maybe it was a chastity belt in the mailbox. Would explain many, many things. Or maybe Connie and Raymond Marble sent her a package.

The lyrics are just about the worst I've seen from her -- and that's saying something -- but I'd still love to hear it. I guess I'm an incurable completist. :)

I also love Dial The Number, another song from that period. But yes, there's something so...Stevie about Tragedy. Kenny G really adds to the song too and I don't usually like his music. I think it really reflects where she was at during that period. And it is just so sad. :distress:
