I know I asked this years ago. There may be new candidates now for the main roles.

Suppose they will do a TV show about the Fleetwood Mac story. What actors would you choose for the main members?

My suggestions:

Peter - Geoffrey Rush (though a bit old for the early years)
Christine - Helen Hunt
Lindsey - Ryan Phillip (he got to dye his hair black)

Christine: Helen Mirren
Mick: Vince Vaughn
John: That hobbit that's on Lost
Lindsey: I've no idea...Jake Weber just because I like him
Stevie: Sally Struthers

Remember those old infomercials where Struthers would ask for you to sponsor a child in a third-world country? Imagine Sally Struthers as Stevie:

"Do your part and help to save these poor children of Africa. Every night they go to bed without any food or decent clothing. But, with your help and monetary contributions, I can not only introduce them to the wonders of the Atkins diet, but I can wrap them up in lush chiffon robes to protect their delicate skin from the harsh weather they must endure on an almost daily basis. Send your donation now, only eighty-five cents a day, and you will get your free welcome kit consisting of a letter from the child you sponsor, a picture of that child to cherish forever, and a discount coupon for the Fleetwood Mac Fan Club. You may have lived a chiffon-deprived childhood, but don't let it happen to these poor children."

Actually, this is some good casting. But kate blanchett would freak me out as Christine, because she has such full, beautiful lips, and Christine has none...for me, that's very much a part of her christine-ness, the no lips thing - but Kate is a good close match otherwise...

I would hope that they never ever do a show about Fleetwood Mac. I could just imagine the horror of it all. I mean the media can't get Lindsey's birthdate correct or even spell his name right.

Please not in my lifetime.

I'd like to see one in my lifetime if it's done *right*, I mean that could be really cool-- to get the timeline straight, all the names right-- and to tell that amazing story, w all the luck, romance and drama involved....

If the Beach Boys can have a movie made about them, then why not FM? Although the Beach Boys one made me cringe at times... but still I think it would be pretty neat to have an FM one.

But timeline and details are crucial. I was watching that new 'Unbroken Chain' DVD and two things annoyed the crap out of me--saying that Danny Kirwan left before Jeremy Spencer, and then Bob Brunning saying that FM really only wanted Stevie, and that Lindsey was part of the package deal. The 'incorrect-ness' of those two points drove me up the wall!!! Seeing a movie full of inaccuracies would give me a stroke.

Harry Shearer...he does about 5 of the Simpsons characters' voices, he was one of the "extras" on the original SNL cast, he played bass player Derek Smalls in Spinal Tap, he is a regular in the "big three" Christopher Guest's movies (Waiting For Guffman, Best In Show, The Mighty Wind)...he has a resume' a mile long.

Mick: I couldn't agree more - John Cleese-he's got the height, the wit, and the accent!

John: Harry Shearer - another great choice, Chili!

Christine: Teri Garr - Cate Blanchett's a good choice too.

Younger Stevie: That actress who plays Samantha on ER or the actress who plays Brittney on the Young and the Restless (and she can sing).

80's Stevie and with the right hair and make-up, Stevie today: Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki on the Young and the Restless)

Klonopin years Stevie: Sally Struthers!

Lindsey: Aidan Quinn, or Christian from Nip and Tuck!

There is another actress on YATR that reminds me of Stevie but it is not any of these actresses. There is also a young actor on that show that kind of reminds me of Lindsey from the Tusk era in some odd way.

I have 1 o'clock lunch and we mostly watch Days of Our Lives at work. However, sometimes I have to take a earlier lunch or a stray YATR watcher is still on lunch so we wait to change the channel. I get to see a bit of what is going on but I really don't know the names of the characters or their real names.

If you are going to do a documentary make sure that it is correct!

The other strange part was the fact that they did not play any Mac music. That made it seem odd but some of the photos were rare and kind of cool to see.

OMG Lisa I just bought this video last night and I could not believe that they said Mick wanted SN and NOT LB. I thought that there was something wrong with my ears.
If you are going to do a documentary make sure that it is correct!

That was a pretty major fact for Brunning to get wrong. Geez. And I HATE the timeline errors. Plus it *was* weird that there was no Mac music. The song at the end was dedicated to Peter Green though....?

I contributed tons of my collection to that special-- I scanned much of my stuff etc onto 2 DVD's and sent them out to CA; almost every old picture of the band is from me (I think w/ the exception of 2-3), along w/ the magazine covers, a couple of single sleeves, the newspaper clippings/headlines (although I didn't send him any of the Fritz stuff) and the press photos. The guy had told me he would send me a free copy of the DVD once it was completed, as appreciation for my time and effort, but that never happened. Sort of annoying since without my stuff he'd have had about 8 pictures to work with.

Whatever. At least he put our names in the credits! And it was interesting to see what Neil and Louise look like! :)

I think she is perfect. To be honest I never heard of her.
I just went to Blackmore's website and I am listening to their audio. Pretty good.

of Blackmore's Night albums and the problem with Candice Night is she SMOKES Stevie vocally, So ya can't use her...Though she is perfect for the whole "Witchy/Fairy" aspect that is Stevie's.

I have almost all of the albumns, and my only complaint is they don't do U.S. concerts enough. Would love to see live sometime.

It looks to me like Candice Night is already playing Stevie.
Her voice is not really right, but maybe she could rasp it up. Her singing is a little precious, but her voice is strong.
She looks way more like Stevie than any of those other women.

Who knows if the link works, but perhaps Alison Lohman from Big Fish for young Stevie.

Ooooh, good choice. I really like her and I think she could totally pull it off!

*****Shutters******* Maybe Stevie could do one of those commercials ...only for Mic. "For only 80 cents a day you could help one of these poor musicians........"
