I have to take Main Street on the way to school and they always decorate the light poles for the Christmas parade, which isn't until the first week of December... and they've already got the decorations up today. To top that off, usually the Christmas music doesn't come out until Thanksgiving, but TWO radio stations here have already switched formats to all Christmas, all the time. As if that wasn't annoying enough during the season itself when one of them played nothing but carols... One of them was an all 70's station, the other was light rock, both of them played a fair amount of the Mac -- this leaves me with one classic rock station and a "pop" station that plays nothing but rap. :distress: Is it already Christmas anywhere else?

Yes, there is a light rock station that plays ALL Christimas music and I think started on November 1st.

I'm not ready for Christmas, dangit!! LOL I'm going to buy a few gifts today and I've gotten a few things.

Yep - it seems as though Christmastime comes earlier and earlier every year.

I love this time of year so I don't really mind so much...although it is a bit sad how incredibly commercialized this holiday has become...I try to enjoy the simple things in the season and not get bogged down in commercialism etc...

The park in my neighborhood had guys putting up the lights this morning. But they're blue so they're more festive than Christmassy so that's okay. It's way too early for the Christmas music, I agree on that one. But it's only about 5 weeks away, which scares me. I usually get too stressed and wind up hating the holidays, ugh.

Yeah, Christmastime is my fave time of year too. You're right tho, it's become this "Buy this! They need this! Buy, buy, buy!!!!!" :( I'm taking it easy this year on the gifts. I don't need anything. I'm just glad my family members are still here for another Christmas. :)

Yep same here - I'm just happy to be able to be with my family this year...they know they won't be getting a whole lot for me and vice-versa - but that's not what the holiday is about for me anymore...:)

Oh but yeah - all Christmas music on the radio already -that's a bit much....

Try Xmas in October at Walgreen's! I was shopping for some last-minute Halloween stuff on October 30TH and the Xmas stuff had already replaced the Halloween merch!

Sad...

The malls over here have the Christmas decorations already up. One even had Santa Claus already and this was 2 weeks ago.

I know that one of the radio stations played Xmas music last year but they have not started yet. Maybe next week. I think that is too much. I hate most Xmas music anyway. Maybe mix the Xmas music with the normal stuff is good but all Xmas is not good too early.
I can see maybe 2 weeks before but that's it.

Last year they started playing xmas music on Thanksgiving night, I think. And I don't mind the music, there's some half decent songs out there, but when you hear the same song six or seven times a day for WEEKS at a time it really takes the fun out of it.

Good grief, they just did a spot on the 6 o'clock news about it. I have nothing against Christmas, but remind me again which holiday comes next?

in this area Christmas wise (Though the Festival of Lights in Chickasha should be up within a week)...

But that's fine because even though I love autumn/winter I cannot handle the holidays whatsoever, Too much baggage from my childhood has ruined the holidays for me, Not to mention Debbie's illness setting in last year which made a grey holiday time even darker (Actually made it very bleak & ominously black)

Over here, I just dig the general vibe that there is around Christmastime. I like the general feel-good vibe. I love how it's all cold outside but it's warm inside and you get to put ornaments on the tree and look at the lights for however long. Love it.

I noticed that there's a Santa in the mall already. I think it's a little early, but whatever floats your boat, I suppose.

I wish it was cold here. It gets chilly at night but it's shorts weather during the day. :( I can't wait to put the tree up -- we have new kittens this year and we're going to tether the tree to the ceiling with fishing line. This is gonna be fun.

My mom works there. That Christmas stuff? has been in the back room for a while just itching to come out. They're hardcore rushing the season this year. However, it's dropping down to freezing next week and it's a possibility we'll get snow here (it was in the high 50's today which is fairly warm for this area). Maybe i'll feel more festive then. Ha. Just kidding.

Two radio stations have already started the non-stop Christmas music. So, basically, that's two stations playing the same 10 songs covered by 50 different artists -_- What happened to waiting until after Thanksgiving??
