Mine is Rick Vito. In fact I guess is the only one I liked. Maybe Billy was fine but I wasn't crazy about him. Mason and Bekka... not an option.

Rick was cool and gave good performances at the Tango shows. That "Another woman" video, very cool. I like Love is Dangerous, too.

I like Billy, but I think Bekka did a wonderful job, especially given the personality shoes she had to fill. Vocally, she blows La Nicks away.

Vito, because to me he seems like the nicest guy around. His solo albums are probably the ones that appeal to me the most of this bunch, but then if Dave Mason was still releasing stuff close in quality to his early '70s work then Rick would have some stiff competition.

Oh, and I didn't even mention his guitar playing yet, but that's a given.

I like 'em all, but in terms of being a member of Fleetwood Mac, my vote goes to Billy Burnette. He wrote great songs, was a brilliant rhythm guitarist who became a great fourth to the Fleetwood-McVie-McVie rhythm section, and had a voice that worked well with Christine, Stevie, and Bekka. He was a team player. He put his ego aside to keep the band on the road. With seven albums under his belt, he could have pulled a Lindsey and demand that songs prior to his involvement be dropped. But he put the band's needs first. Billy is one of the guys I'd like to see back in the fold.

A few words about the others:

Bekka is a favorite, but she was still trying to find her own identity when with the Mac, which was hard as she was being compared to her mother, Christine, and Stevie and was not given a fair chance to prove herself worthy in her own right.

Rick was a great session player prior to joining the band, struggled to find out who he was while in the band, and has released a lot of great albums after finding himself after leaving the band. I've said it before, I think he's the most technically gifted guitarist the band's ever had.

Dave Mason was a has-been when he joined the band. It's a shame, because his work with Traffic and his solo career up unitl "Let It Flow" was fantastic. If THAT Dave Mason showed up to play with Fleetwood Mac, my answer would probably differ. The other thing is that he did not appear to be as much of a team player. Basically, Fleetwood Mac became his backing band. He still did a lot of his standards, but really didn't do any old Mac tunes.

Rick Vito here too. I like Billy and some of his songs, but Rick was the superior guitarist. He definitely had a style all his own. And he's also played with many of my favorite artists over the years (including lots of my favorite Bonnie Raitt songs as well as "The Heat Is On" by Glenn Frey).

Can you elaborate on this? I did see Rick listed as being on some Glenn Frey comps at AllMusic but I've seen bum listings from them before so I e mailed Rick at his site to find out which GF songs he was on before I bought any GF stuff to make sure and he said that it was a mistake and that he's never even met him. So I never bought the GF comp.

So any other sources besides allmusic.com that talk about this, please do let me know about it OK? Thanks in advance. :)

Hands down - Billy Burnette. Absolutely no contest there. I have several of his solo albums, as well as Bekka and Billy, and can't get enough of him. Love his work on BTM and Time as well.
A couple of months ago I was channel surfing and came across a John Fogerty concert on A&E. Don't get me wrong. I like Fogerty. But I found myself watching the concert because Billy was in his backing band.

I like Bekka Bramlett a lot as well. Loved her work on Time and Bekka and Billy. Also liked her backing vocals on Jonny Lang's work. Didn't care for her 2002 solo album though.

Billy Burnette~~probably because he dates back to being a Fleetwood Mac relation, working with Mick, Lindsey and Christine on solo projects as well as doing duets with Stevie "Are You Mine?" and Christine "It Ain't Over"

Totally forgot about the movies. Have all if not most of them. Love Saturday Night Special - it's so bad that it's entertaining. Never made it past the first ten minutes of Not Like Us. Carnosaur 3 and Richie Rich's Christmas Wish were awful. Addams Family Reunion wasn't too bad. Still can't convince myself to even try to watch Casper Meets Wendy. No doubt about it, Billy should stick to music making and leave acting to those with the talent for it!
Speaking of which, anybody know if he's got another solo album in the works?
