Pop-ups?

I'm looking around my User CP but I don't see any way of disabling the feature that gives you a pop-up text box of the first post in a thread when you hover your mouse. Some people probably find it useful, but I find it intrusive.

Is there a way for me to disable it, other than disabling JavaScript?

Sorry David-- the only way I can disable for you is to turn it off for everyone and others (including myself) do find it a useful feature. Some browsers may not support it though-- I know that Safari does not. Maybe that is an option for you, if you own a Mac.
