Tell me about some of your more bizarre Stevie/Mac dreams ... you know you've had some over the years!
I have two to share:
In 1994, after the release of Street Angel, my apartment was burglarized. The thieves got just about everything of "black-market" value, including jewelry such as my high school class ring, all our blue jeans, and almost 300 CDs, including all of my boyfriend's Madonna and Erasure CDs, about 2/3 of which were imports and cost $20-$30 each. But they didn't get ANY of my Stevie Nicks collection. I took this as a sign. A few nights after the burglary, I had a dream that my boyfriend and I moved out of the tainted apartment and bought a big 2-story Victorian home to start over our life together. The house had a complete wrap-around covered hardwood porch, and we installed a security device to ensure that we were never stolen from again. This security device was a large rolling robot of Stevie's head from the "I Can't Wait" video. It circumnavigated the entire house on the porch, checking all the doors and windows, and screaming "AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!" and "NOOOOOOOO BABY!!!!!" at any sign of trouble.
The other dream that really sticks out has been recurring ever since I saw The Mac in Houston in 1987. I had front-row seats directly between Stevie and Christine, one of the best nights of my life ... ever! In the dream, I'm at some sort of outdoor festival where there is a series of live music being played on the other side of the park. As I'm at the concession stand, I hear a song start, and the voice sounds like Stevie. I of course perk up and try to figure out who is singing, and the more I listen, the more I'm convinced it's her. So, I leave the concession line and try my best to race to the other side of the park where the bandstand is located. In true dream fashion, I'm hampered in my efforts, being blocked by crowds of people, having beer spilled on me, falling down, etc. As I finally make it closer, I can finally see that it IS Stevie, and she's singing an awesome brand-new song. I push through the crowd as the music swells and still can't get close enough to actually see the entire stage, but I can hear the music, and it's magic. Everyone in the crowd is totally enthralled. Finally, I make it to the stage, and ... you guessed it ... the song ends, and Stevie leaves the stage. The crowd is going wild, and I ask everyone around me if they know what the name of the song is, but no one does. Then, I wake up, and the song is still running through my head, but every time I try to make it to my desk to write down the words or jot down some note to remember the melody, it's gone.
Please feel free to psycho-analyze either of these dreams at will. I never pass up free psychiatry! :D
