Bad Journey about FM?

So what do you think... Is "Bad Journey" about Christine's decision to leave the "Dance" tour and/or Fleetwood Mac? :confused:
Many of the lyrics seem to be about the breakup of a love relationship, but there are some that seem more about touring or ending her association with the band, especially:

"In New York City to Mexico
I went to New Orleans and to Boise, Idaho
On the shores of Gitche Gumee
In the hidden hills
I went to Key Biscayne
Nothing there so I came back again."

Also, the whole relationship angle could be a metaphor for leaving the band. :shrug:

I don't see this song being about FM.

"Trusted you with all my heart, never thought you'd tear me apart"

That to me is written for an ex-lover.

Also I've never heard her say anything really bad about her time with the band. I think she was ready to slow down a bit and come back to England.

She says on one of the video clips on her site that after 35 years she thought there must be something else out there.

I've always thought that 'Do it all over again' from the Time album was about her leaving the band.

I think this is directed at Eddy Quintela. I don't think Fleetwood Mac has anything to do with this song. The funny thing about "Bad Journey", I liked the 1 minute clip, although nothing really spectacular. But, I LOVE it now that I've heard the entire song. It's pretty Bob Welch like at times, very different from a "normal" Christine McVie song.

"All Over Again" is her goodbye to Fleetwood Mac. She wrote about finally breaking the chain. I do think maybe "Friend" may be about Fleetwood Mac, specifically John and or Mick.

Friend could be about FM and like you say specifically about Mick and/or John

This is about her life in FM. Mostly about touring and what it did to her love life. She's talking about touring and seeing her love as far away as the mountain tops. So yes I do believe it is.

I found myself loving most of the songs a lot more once I listened to the entire song from the album. The snippets don't do the songs justice at all. "Bad Journey", I think, has that same heavy rhythm section of "Bad Loser" from the Heroes Are Hard To Find album.

I tend to agree with those who think the song is about a relationship breakup, with the above lyrics being more of a metaphor for her looking or searching for an answer, as opposed to it being about touring with Fleetwood Mac.
