View Full Version : Possible starters

I wanted to post this long ago, and always forget. Maybe it was already discussed.
Why does Stevie NEVER starts a mac album? Not even during the non-Lindsey days (ok, just BTM).
I think Angel could have been a cool start for Tusk, though it wouldn't show the real sound of the product. Actually, Silver Springs would have been awesome starting TUSK. It fits very good (why didn't they wait??)
What about Affairs of the Heart starting BTM ?
And if Stand Back had been a mac song, it would have started perfectly Tango in the Night (though Big Love is my favorite starter of all albums).
Maybe because she always had the fewest songs on an album, and they wanted to space them out more...?

Good point, Neal.
"Angel" DID start side 2 of Tusk, though. (in fact, on side 2 of Tusk, there aren't ANY Christine tunes!!!!!)

She most often ends it though. So maybe the question we should really be asking is: why doesn't Lindsey Buckingham ever close an album?

Really? I still don't have the vinyl. I can't imagine Never Forget anywhere but at the end.

I think Crystal would have been a good opener for the White Album. That first line draws you in. And I can see Seven Wonders opening Tango.

Is there a hidden meaning in that question?
I mean, where is So Afraid & You&I Part II ?

It is at the end. I don't know what that person is talking about... Christine has plenty of songs on the second LP of Tusk.

I have wondered this too. To be fair, she does open both The Chain box set and the Greatest Hits album.
A better question would be- why does Stevie always have the least amount of songs on Fleetwood Mac records? Even before her solo career she always had the fewest songs.

They're always the longest, except for like Mirage, where she only has 3 songs and they are far from the longest, but that one could be because she had two solo albums surrounding it with 10 songs each.

I think she could have had more songs on Mirage, with ll her leftovers from the solo stuff.

Maybe she was going to on SYW. Remember, there was a big controversy over the running order of the songs. I'm sure it's in the 5 million hours the documentary cut out. Hopefully one day we'll get to see a bit more of what went down...
As far as Stand Back as a Fleetwood Mac song, am I the only one who thinks it's MUCH better with Fleetwood Mac than solo? I'm in love with it this tour and I think most people are. I wonder how much different the whole production of the song would have been had Lindsey gotten his hot little hands on it.

It depends. I love Stand Back on this tour, but I love it as much in the Red Rocks video. (Those drums rock!) It was great on Storytellers/Enchanted Tour, but sucked on the Mask tour, IMO.

Well, okay, with Red Rocks being the exception, I say this SB kicks the @ss of every other version of Stand Back ever (I can agree with you there...Red Rocks is in a class by itself). I did love her adlib on the Enchanted Tour of "this is the time of your life..." at the end of the song. However, it's just way hotter now (with and without the Lindsey guitar-humpage might I add  )
Behind The Mask tour....

She's kicked a few times on this tour if memory serves. But yes, the Enchanted kick

I don't think I've seen real kicks on this tour, just once where her leg flew to the side. More of a melodic spasm.

I don't even like Stand Back but it is still the highlight of all three shows I went to this tour. Every night it was the best song. So much twirling and spinning around!!! I love it!!! It is so much better live then on the WH album. My favorite song from this tour- hands down. Well maybe it's tied with Beautiful Child. :)

They were refering to side two of the first record where no Christine songs are present IE: WMYTYTO through Sisters Of The Moon. :)

Not really. I'm just kind of a smart ass. I also forgot that Christine has been known to close an album or two. So no, there's no Stevie vs. Lindsey crap implied if that's what you were thinking. :D
I also agree with Jake, Seven Wonders = great opener.

Shit, forget the coffee, just turn on your PC at six in the morning. That'll wake you up.
