I just read that terrific article about Christine on the Rumours board. I'm interested in her comments about Dennis Wilson. She mentioned something about a Dennis Wilson solo album, Pacific Ocean Blue & that she sang on it. Has anyone ever heard of this album or know anything about it? It sounds like Chris is saying that she sang on it. Does anyone know anything about this?

An early sign of Wilson's lack of control came when, as a token of his love for McVie, he hired a team of people to dig up her back garden into a giant heart shape. He was intending to fill the heart-shaped hole with roses, but he never got round to it. "My lawn was now just a big pile of dirt. He had all these people holding a candle around the edge of it, slowly sinking into the mud. Then he got up on the balcony and proposed to me. Then he sent me the bill for the work. I suppose his heart was in the right place."
LMAO - I LOVE her and her dry sense of humor!!!!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:
thanks for posting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This won't answer the question but just so you know, I ordered that album (due to this mention as well) and will report back what the notes say if anything about this when I get it. :)

From reading some threads on various Beach Boys message boards/newgroups, etc, Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue, by consensus, is one of, if not, THE best Beach Boy solo albums (and that includes Brian's albums, too). I haven't listened to it in quite some time, but I rememer it being VERY good.
How I love Google.
here are some articles about Dennis Wilson, about his relationship with Christine and about Pacific Ocean Blue:

Those articles were great. Thanks for posting them. :) I've done a little research today on Pacific Ocean Blue. It sounds like this album might be a classic. I'd never heard of it until today.

I don't think Chris appears anywhere on Pacific Ocean Blue but then again her outstanding harmony vocal (she sounds just as great as the Boys in there) to "Love Surrounds Me" on the Beach Boys L.A. (Light Album) was uncredited in the liner notes too. It's generally been assumed that "LSM" was one of the songs that would have appeared on Dennis' second (unreleased & unfinished) solo album Bamboo. Anyway, I think that's the only officially released thing where you can hear Chris and Dennis together.

Also, it looks like Pacific Ocean Blue was released in 1977. I was always under the impression that Chris didn't meet Dennis until 1978 when Fleetwood Mac was recording Tusk. The only way she could be on the album is if she had actually met him earlier. That article doesn't actually quote Chris as saying that she sang on Pacific Ocean Blue. It's the writer of the article who says that Chris sang on it. Either way, Chris does apparently love the album whether she's on it or not.

I posted about this at a Beach Boys message board and got this reply:
"OK, so I wasn't there, but working purely from the dates, Christine, bless her, is probably misremembering the BAMBOO/LA sessions. Dennis & Karen were divorced on September 19, 1977, re-married on June 28th next year and Dennis filed for divorce again an July 12th 1978. According to what I've been told, Dennis & Christine became an item in December 1978."
Hope this helps. :)
