Should the electoral college stay or go? I say it should go. It is an unnecessary and flawed system.

I've done a few speeches on this and have written papers as well. Essentially, in the grand scheme of things, your vote does not count. It doesn't count unless the candidate you've voted for has picked up the electoral votes for your state. Clearly, certain states have always voted a certain way. I'm fairly certain New Jersey has always given their electoral votes to the democratic candidate. So, If I vote for a republican but a majority of the citizens in this state vote for the democratic candidate, my vote is essentially null and void, IMO. The system is tired and old and was put in place to keep certain people from voting. However, I don't forsee it being abolished in the near future.
