I'm no good at choosing favorite demos, but I'll try:
City of Hope
All the Beautiful Worlds
Something Exquisite
Beautiful Ghost/The Crystal
Belle Fleur
Baby Doll
Starshine
The TISL demos of Thrown Down are big favorites of mine, so I was thrilled to see it on SYW.
I also like Gypsy Beggars/I Wanna Talk to You/whatever it's called, and I think I'm probably the only one.
I'm also beginning to like Love You Enough since hearing the shorter & more "polished" version. I think it has potential.

Question....
Is the "tropical" version of "If You Were My Love" the Street Angel version? I've never had the SA version, but I do have this version...and her voice sounds VERY 'street angel-ish' to me.

I've been seeing the "tropical version" listed on various sites lately, but I haven't bothered to download it or seek it out, because I've assumed it's simply the 'Street Angel' era outtake with a goofy nickname someone gave it.
I can't begin to describe how happy I am that they didn't use that version for 'Street Angel.'
"If You Were My Love" is a tremendous song, but that corny production and Stevie's listless vocal just stops it dead in its tracks.
Apparently quite a few people disagree with me though... but that's nothing new!

This is a fun song to play when you're driving. Definitely one of her few upbeat numbers.

The tropical version of If You Were My Love is the FM version. :)
And I agree with you on the SA version; it's awful.

Really? Because I know that I have the FM version (I can clearly hear Lindsey on there), and it is NOT the same as the 'tropical version".
Ahhh...all these versions of songs is enough to drive one crazy!

That's what I was thinking. The one I think of as the FM version is the one where Lindsey repeats over and over "If you were my love" near the end of the song. And there isn't a hint of anything tropical in that version IMO.

Aside from the ones that have already been mentioned, I am really digging "Love You Enough" right now. Thank you as always, Nancy!

"Knocking on Doors" is the absolute best demo I've ever heard! Though it's definitely demo sounding, the tune is very catchy. Stevie should do this one for an album.
What about "Do I Bring You Down?" That's one of my faves but then I heard that it wasn't Stevie singing on it, but some guy! What's up with that? If it's not Stevie, she should record it anyway. I love it!

The tropical version of the song IS the Fleetwood Mac version and it runs 5:24. At the end, Stevie says "It goes on and on now, baby."
I don't hear anything tropical in the SA version.

Yeah, that is the FM version, but what about that version sounds tropical to you? I think the tropical version is the SA one where the only thing missing is a steel drum.

To tell you the truth, nothing about it sounds tropical. But, it sounds more tropical than the monotonous drone that is the SA version.

There is definately nothing tropical about the vocal, but the music definately has a Caribbean sound to it. I can almost hear ocean waves when I listen to it, and that would be a good thing caus it might drown out the rest of the song. Sorry in advance to those who like it!

Yeah, if any recording of "If You Were My Love" merited the nickname "tropical version," I'd assume it was the 'Street Angel' outtake, which has some sort of anemic Reggae thing going on.
I don't hear anything at all "tropical" about Fleetwood Mac's version. Go figure!

BTW, add Knocking on Doors to my list, too. I thought I'd included that.

Actually the first few notes sound like "Blue Bayou" by Linda Rondstadt to me! I think this one also runs a little shorter (mine says 4:16) than the FM version.

I love that one too, I listen to that recording more than most of her regular album tracks, it's incredible. I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one who loves this song to death.

Off the top of my head I remember only the opening lines, that the demo is OLD, and that the sound quality of my copy is poor.
