[The Chain]

So what was the story behind Stevie at this show? What was the security doing to make Stevie say fu*k? Did they like hit them, or something... What an atmosphere that would have been, seeing Stevie get all heated... Did you hear the applause...I would have loved to have been there:D

Really, my late teen years and early 20's are one big blur...

Anywho...from what I could vaguely remember, you know at the end of the show, where Stevie likes to shake hands with the audience and some, of course, have gifts for her....well, security kept the people back and kept them away from her...and I believe at one point during all this confusion she saw some people getting hurt...I can't remember if she went to the mike and said something (she may very well have) but I DO vividly remember her looking down, shaking her head and flailing her arms all about and stomping her feet like she WAS pissed.

What puzzles me now...is what tour was this??

I saw The Wild Heart Tour in Hartford, and I saw the Rock A Little Tour in New Haven (with Frampton)

OH...I also remember the opening act for this show was The Hooters...

I remember the first time I heard about this I just didn't beleive it. Back in 1989 BC (before computers!) it was hard to really know much about Stevie, considering the lack of exposure to her career then, plus she really never was the media pig that other celebrities are) and she always seemed so reserved or illusive, kind of shy I thought. From the few interviews that I had seen with her I just didn't beleive she would cuss like that. (But then again I remember arguing with my friend that I went to a RAL show with that "STEVIE DOESN'T DO COKE!" those were just wild rumors I said. At a Rock a Little show no less. What a dork, huh?)

Speaking of Stevie getting pissed off, for those who have the 1983 US Festival show, does Stevie get mad at security or something during Stand Back? I haven't watched it in a while, but I remember at some point she comes running towards the audience and screaming and shaking her head. However, I couldn't tell if she was mad about something or was just really into the song. To me, it looks like she's yelling at someone. Anyone know?

OMGosh, that's strange - I just watched that last night! I was wondering what the hell she was doing! She kinda stomped down to the front of the stage, ran around the front, then ran back up just in time to start singing. I don't think she was mad - I think she was just running in front of the audience. She didn't have a lot of time - I didn't know what she was doing.

it never struck me that she was mad....she was just trying to get closer to the audience....at one point (i think it was after "gypsy"), she was at the edge of the stage and was laughing and motioning that she really couldn't get any closer and kind of threw her hands up in the air...she said "they get very worried that i might just disappear into the audience".

she never did.

i could just see her moshing right now. not.

She is in good form during that concert, jumping off the stage and joking with the audience. I love the US Festival performance! I saw that show (from waaaay back). Some people I roomed with in college awhile later told me they saw it, too, & they (devout headbangers because Day 2 was headbanger day) always said how "passionate" Stevie Nicks was at that show. She wasn't always a crowd-pleaser back in those days, but she was at the US Fest 2.

I played a recording of the show to one of them later still, & he said, "She bit off a little more than she could chew." I'm still not sure what he meant.
