View Full Version : The Duet Partners...in their own right

I know favorite Stevie duet partners have been discussed a lot as far as their song/s with Stevie...but which of them is your favorite aside from their collaboration with Stevie? Rank them, if you wish. The choices: Tom Petty, Don Henley, Bruce Hornsby, Natalie Maines, Kenny Loggins. I was tempted to include others that were major collaborations, although not technically duets (John Stewart, Sheryl Crow, etc)...so include them if you wish!

I'd say...

1-Tom (wooooooooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooo!)
2-Don (alright!)
3-Natalie
4-Bruce
5-Kenny (ugh! )

I love Tom Petty! I really like Sheryl Crow too and the others I'm not into.

1. Tom- Of course!
2. Don- Like him, but not the song. Sorry.
3. Bruce- Like the song, not him.
4. Natalie- Would've been better suited on a DC album.
5. Kenny- Yuck.

Far and away, it's Tom Petty for me. He's the tops.

Sheryl Crow has grown on me over the years, and I like quite a number of her songs.

I can only take Don Henley in small doses, though I enjoy him within the Eagles (for the most part), and I love "Heart Of The Matter," "Boys Of Summer," and "Sunset Grill."

Natalie Maines... I'm not a big fan of country music, but the Dixie Chicks aren't bad, and I enjoyed their cover of "Landslide."

Bruce Horsby and Kenny G.?
Ick.

Other than those last two, I really like everyone Stevie has worked with (well, ok, not Jesse Camp!).

Tom Petty is pretty cool!! And I've always enjoyed his work over the years.

I love Don Henley's "End Of The Innocence"...it's truly a great album, but other than that I'm not all that crazy about his work.

The Eagles are alright to listen to on the radio and in a bar, but I'm they're not one of my favorite bands.

I loved Macy Gray when she first came out...then she got all freaky and weird...but she does have one truly unique voice.

And Sadly, every time I hear of David Crosby now...all I think is Sperm Donor:eek:

Don't get me wrong, I admire what he did....but I think Melissa would've been better off with Brad Pitt!!

Tom Petty. He's almost as cool as Lynyrd Skynyrd. ;)

Well I was actually a Sheryl Crow fan from the very beginning, well since her first album anyway....so she's my favorite...then...

Tom Petty
Don Henley

It's kind of a toss-up between Sheryl Crow and Tom Petty for me. I loved both of them before I really knew much of anything about Stevie Nicks.

I like the Eagles, but don't care much for Don Henley solo. After that, it's Natalie Maines, then Bruce Hornsby. Kenny Loggins, I just don't like at all. He and his wife are too weird. I think they had a nude wedding or something...and then wrote some off-the-wall book.

Tom and Sheryl and if he counts---Lindsey (and of course, he's first on the list).

I don't know if this counts either, but I absolutely love Sheryl's production on Stevie's songs, moreso than anyone else she's worked with besides maybe Jimmy Iovine. I would love it if Sheryl and Stevie put out and album together with Sheryl producing---I'm pretty sure Stevie said they'd do a project together in the future, but I'm definitely not holding my breath.

Somebody else mentioned him, and I did not since I don't care for his music or that song at all.

I saw both he and his wife on some talk show a few years ago promoting a book they wrote together where they talked about it. I'm not making this up. The book was called The Unimaginable Life.
