I didn't relize how enrgetic she was on this tour. She sounds great... ecspecially on the House Of Blues, I Need To Know is awsome, she even does the "ow's" But seriously, she sounds so young, and full of life... She got of Klonopin, that year, huh? Anyone agree.... I feel stupid for never listening to a boot of that tour... I thought she would be boring and simple, much to my suprise, she wasn't. It's awsome:thumbsup:

On The Whole Lotta Trouble Tour her voice had sounded loud (more than just the microphone) but less soothing.
You're certainly with the majority in your opinions, but I really don't remember being blown away by Stevie in '94. Her voice sounded pretty but faint, at least at the Chicago show I attended. And I thought that some of the songs were poorly arranged - Destiny dragged and lacked harmony, and I like the album version enough to think it could have been better on the tour. Even the Mask Tour, where I think Stevie was at her lowest musically, had a more powerful effect on me.
But maybe I'm bitter that I came down with the flu just after the concert.

I think Stevie's 94 concerts sound great too. It's almost like she was trying harder knowing that she couldn't rely on her looks anymore. Maybe she quit Klonopin for the duration of the tour?

I liked this tour with the exception of "Docklands" (Why o Why did she not only put it on the record but subject us to it on tour!!! ). She danced a bunch and sounded great.

I read that she de-toxed before the album release, then tried to go back to fix it (unsuccessfully), and then toured without much faith in the album.

Well the show I saw of the SA Tour left me uninspired. I thought it was one of her worst efforts along with BTM. I just felt like the magic was gone.

I think the Street Angel Tour is the high point vocally of Stevie's career since she turned 40. I saw the shows in Mountain View, Sacramento & Irvine, & often listen to the rest of the tour on tape, & for whatever reason, her singing is low-key, mature-Stevie perfection throughout. I wish I had seen the Holmdel & Las Vegas shows.
Also good & worth seeking out are the series of radio interviews throughout the spring of '94, which have a bunch of on-air Stevie-and-Casio performances of "Rhiannon," "Silent Night" & "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You?" Listening to those before the touring started got me hyped because of what a marked break from the recent past they were.

The Whole Lotta Trouble tour was the absolute pits, IMO. It was unbearable. However, the Street Angel tour is my fave. She was powerful vocally on that tour. I saw her opening night in Boston and still have very fond memories of how great it was. :)

I, too did not like the TOSOTM tour. She just seemd totally out of it at the Houston Show I saw. She sort of went into Rhiannon and then just stopped and sang HAEWAFY. So, the SA tour was day to that night.

I also enjoyed many moments from the SA Tour...I love the HOB Show as well, although many of the vocals we hear from that show were recorded later and fixed..such as Rhiannon...the uncut copy thats floating around on trade sites and such is good as well, but things are different...IE : She didn't really get into Rhiannon as much as the recording shows (which was recorded and overdubbed for a Westwood One Radio Broadcast)

Not because I didn't want to go...I never did see Stevie on her Whole Lotta Trouble Tour or Street Angel Tour. I know many have said that she was at the height of the pills/the weight thing but I still would have liked to have gone. The 1991 concert here was cancelled due to the facility where it was to be held went under financially. Street Angel's closest stop was Mansfield, MA and I had no way of getting there. So I have since made up for the missed shows.

I think Stevie sounded AMAZING on the Street Angel Tour...her voice was so strong! I have the video of Pittsburgh and she's amazing! I thought she looked beautiful. (Clothing comment on the side: I know no one else likes it, but that was my all-time fave Stevie hair! And her clothes were beautiful this tour...the fringe that went from the knee to the floor! I know she looks back on it as not a good time for her because she was so tired from fighting addictions and was unhappy with her weight, but I think she looked great in the clothes she wore on this tour.) 'Edge' at this show was fabulous! She kneeled down in front of the audience to let out her huge wail in the middle. Also when she was on the Mark & Brian Show and she sang along to all of the new songs they played...that voice! Though I still love watching/listening to Whole Lotta Trouble (TimeSpace) shows, I agree that Stevie was clearly at the lowest point of her addiction. She did some great Rhiannon's on that tour, though. You can still see her sparkle under there somewhere. Watching '91 interviews now is saddening...she was so sedated. But still as honest as ever. I LOVE the OSOTM tour. The atmosphere was so magical. Alice! Need I say more?!
i never got a chance to see the '91 and '94 tours. I saw FM in November of '90 and then i didn't see any of them or her till 1996 in Boston when she played a free concert sponsored by a radio station.
I think in 1991 i was on vacation when she came around...then in 1994 i actually did have tickets to SPAC (Saratoga, NY) but there were some nasty storms and the show was cancelled. And that was it. Although, i could have seen another area show like Jones Beach but maybe it had passed already.
needless to say, i was pretty disappointed. now, looking back on some of the footage, i wish i had seen a show. she definately got an "a" for effort. i think she was more energetic then than now - even with the 3 pack a day Kools she was inhaling.

The HOB Westwood One show was broadcast live the night of the concert and she was suffering from bronchitis. They then took the show and fixed it up, then sent it to stations to broadcast again. The original live broadcast had Blue Denim, but they cut it out when they fixed it up. I have the live, uncut broadcast and she was *very* scratchy at that performance. Still great, though, because she had so much passion that night.

So that performace of Destiny that Nancy had up on her site was edited/dubbed? It is one of my favorite Stevie moments ever!!!

Yup. All of the songs on the HOB radio show were.
The original vocals weren't bad, they were just VERY scratchy because of her being sick. For example, Rooms On Fire was heavily edited because she flubs the lyrics badly and just sorta mumbles incoherently for awhile. LOL I would send the unedited one to you if I could, but each disc is one track. The size would be enormous!
Not to be a downer in this thread, but honestly I didn't care for Stevie's performances of "Blue Denim" on Letterman and Leno that year either. Seemed like she had to really push hard to get that raw emotion at the end of the song, yet failed. She didn't move too much either except for a few twirls at the end...I think. Then again we all know that television is not the best medium for Stevie or FM to "show off".

ITA, those performances were yawners.
I think television is sometimes too intimate a medium for Stevie to maintain the mystique her music depends on. Those bright lights and glossy sets on late night shows don't help.
Holding my breath, waiting to be called presumptuous-
