I just downloaded a song called "At last" with a big band sound and Stevie on vocals. It was credited as Buckingham Nicks song, which it is apparently not. Now I'd like to know where and when that comes from. Anyone?:wavey: Stefan

Etta James is the one who made it famous with her rendition in the 60s. I'm not sure if she was a songwriter though, so I don't know who actually wrote it.

Stevie sang At Last live during "Stormy Weather" 1998 at the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles. I think it was in April. It was popularized by Etta James but written by M. Gordon, H. Warren.

Just for those who don't know, "Stormy Weather" is Don Henley's sporadic concert benefit that features female singers performing old pop standards. There have been 2.

Stevie sang "At Last" and "When Sunny Gets Blue" in 1998. I was there in '98. She was awesome and received the most applause, even though Joni Mitchell was the last to perform.

Stevie sang "Landslide" and "Sunday Kind of Love" in 2002, or was it 2003?

I think it must have been 2002 when the second Stormy Weather took place. Even though I was there, I have no idea if it was this year or last year. BTW, Stevie also sang "At Last" in Las Vegas at a benefit thrown by Andre Agassi at the MGM Grand. She worked a red feather boa for all it was worth, and at the end of the show came back out and danced and sang a bit while Lionel Ritchie sang "Brick House". This, as y'all might imagine, was rip roaring hysterical.

Great song, and both Etta and Stevie give great renditions. A lot of non-fans would be stunned to learn that Stevie could pull it off.
The Christina Aguilera version on the other hand...
BTW, two of my closest friends danced to At Last at their wedding.

That was in late September 1998. Someone posted a review on the Nicksfix about it... a video would be awesome to see, but I'm sure if one exsisted it would have turned up by now... Mick was there performing with her and Lindsey was in the audience along with Sharon and Mindy.

I love, love, love this song!

When ( . . . if) I get married, I would love to dance to the Stevie version of this song :) She does a great job!

I saw Cyndi Lauper doing this song on some show while I was channel flipping, and it really didn't do the song justice - ugh.

Actually, Cyndi's version is excellent. Stevie's version is great, I love it, but it's nearly karaoke. Cyndi's has a soul that has been missing in any recent cover version, IMO.

The rest of her new record, also titled At Last, is amazing.
